Spend fun afternoons in the living area whether chatting with your friends or watching TV. Your very own private sun deck boasts astonishing beach and Gulf views, perfect for sunbathing with a view.

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and its more than 300 animals, amazing up-close animal encounters and shows, The Track and its endless family-friendly fun with go-karts, rides, and arcade, Pinnacle 14 Theaters, Tiki's Mini-Golf, and the Alabama Gulf State Park & Pier are all a short drive away. Orange Beach Marina and Zeke's Marina offer fishing charters, dolphin cruises, and watersport rentals. Cactus Cantina, The Hangout, Lulu's, and Picnic Beach are popular restaurants you can find a short drive away.

Long weekend getaway!

Myself, mom, and 2 kids had plenty of room in this cozy beach house. It was very clean upon arrival. It is an older home and could use some updating and improvements but was just fine for our long weekend! One thing that I believe would improve the property would be a walkway to the dune or beach from the back of the house!

Great, quick getaway

The property was perfect for what we were looking for, a quick spring break getaway. The house was the perfect size for us. Was great to be able to wake up to the beach view each morning. Could be updated slightly but overall was great for price.

Perfect little getaway

Loved the house and the location! Right on the beach and hardly anyone around so it was very relaxing. Had all the amenities we needed and it was nice to have the washer and dryer. (Pack less clothes)

The house was perfect for our family of 8 for a week vacation. That is until we got “relocated” on a whim because Vacasa failed to reach out to us to let us know the home was UNSAFE to be in due to electrical issues.

Nova Grande was situated perfectly for us to enjoy our multiple day escape. It was conveniently located. The coast and within close proximity to sites in the area.

Stop before Florida

It was a perfect place right on the beach for a short stay before Florida. Our granddaughter and son-in-law enjoyed their 1st time to beach. A couple things they need is better towels and update on some skillets.

Have you ever watched the movie Summer Rental with John Candy? This house is just like that..pretty much that vintage vibe with people walking through the property all hours of the day. If you want to get to know your neighbors and everyone within walking distance this is the house for you. House was cozy and clean but could definitely use some updating. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable and broken. Living room was cozy and able to relax in. Does have a gorgeous view of the ocean! Vacasa was great and reached out to us- garbage was never taken out even when everyone elses was. Wind threw it all over and I had to clean it up! Gross

Good price but house needs work

One of the beds was broken. Stains on ceiling from last visitor. Cleaning crew was still cleaning at 4. So, late check in. Too many people access the beach through this property. Needs to be blocked. Good price and over all not bad but you get what you pay for.

Nice place beautiful view. We experienced a lot of traffic down the driveway and right under the back balcony with people not using the public beach access. The internet never worked the entire week we was there. I called the internet provider and they said it would be 5 days and vacasa never responded to any emails or texts from the number they text me from saying to let them know if we had any issues.

Great Location-Just Okay House

The good: The house has a great location. It is close to town and it is right on the beach. It has a deck. The bad: This house is extremely dated and could use repairs. While I didn't think that would be a problem, it was. Broken tiles/caulking in the bathroom cut my foot, the spiral staircase is very narrow and the hand rail is PVC pipe that is not at all stable, the carpet has stains, the sliding glass window in the bedroom has no way of closing the blinds as the mechanism is broken, one of the beds had come apart and we had to fix it, the living room ceiling fan light doesn't really work. There are no blankets- just a comforter and sheet on each bed. The beds are in extreme need of new mattresses. The kitchen is one of the best stocked we've seen as far as dishes go. However as a word of caution- there is absolutely nothing in the way of pantry staples- We are used to at least some salt and pepper- be sure to bring your own. There were no coffee filters. We are used to receiving directions as far as what our obligations are prior to leaving and I assume you don't have to do anything as I couldn't find any information about that anywhere. In the future, we will book at a different house.

Overall the house was nice and right on the beach. There were more than enough beds but not comfortable at all. The lighting in the house flickered a lot. Could not use bathroom light and kitchen light at the same time. The home is older so may need some wiring updated. The TV’s did not work upstairs. There was a dvd player but no cable to connect to tv. The shades in the patio door in the main bedroom had shades build in and one side would not close completely.Our kids had their phones and iPad and watched them. We stayed on the beach mainly, so our stay was nice. It rained the first day bad and the wind was horrible. I thought the home was very shaky and it scared my kids along we my spouse and I.

Quaint Beach Cottage

My mom and I stayed at Nova Grande for a few days. The property is as listed in the posting. While the property is a bit dated it was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, and utensils. Be aware there is no additional paper products, salt/pepper, ziplock bags, coffee filters, etc. while this wasn’t an issue for us I just remarked it because I am used to finding those things in most beach houses I rent. There is ample sleeping spaces for you and all your guests. The loft area would be great if traveling with kids. The house could use a bit of maintenance. There are missing handles on closet doors, the closet door in the back bedroom is off its track and I couldn’t figure out how to get it back on. The slider is missing off the blinds in the front room which was disappointing because the view would be amazing from the bed if you could slide the blinds open. We very much enjoyed ourselves during our stay and I would book again. This is the furthest west I have ever stayed in Gulf Shores and I loved the area. No high rise condos which equals a much less crowded beach. Nova Grande is a real find.

Worst!

Kitchen appliances are OLD. Started with only 3 burners working.. By end of week only one worked. Countertops are old Formica in awful shape. Roaches and ants all week. Front bath toilet rocks when you sit on it. Shower curtain rod is duct tapped to top of shower!. Bath door is warped all across bottom. NO CABLE! HVAC inadequate to keep house cool in afternoon. Sliding doors don’t lock..blinds inside doors don’t work…..toddler could open front door…..no interior lock. Deck has 3 chaise lounges….one broken and can’t be used…2 plastic chairs…one broken…NO table or umbrella on deck! No cleaning supplies. Constant stream of people cutting through property to the beach. Shower outside has no handle. Front steps shaky and nails sticking up in places. ITS A HOLE! We won’t use VRBO again if there’s ANY chance that we might end up with a VACASA property.

Great location

The venue was in a beautiful place. Our view of and access to the beach was great. There were some issues we had with the property. We had some rain and the sliding glass doors facing the deck leaked. This should be addressed before structural damage takes place. The beds (all of them) need to be replaced. Master bedroom was very soft. My husband ended up sleeping on the living room couch as it was the only one that provided some support. The shades in the sliding glass doors did not raise up and there was only one magnet slide for four doors. I love to cook and the best food we ate all week was cooked at home. The restaurants were overrun and left some items off of our orders. The kitchen was well equipped but there was only one lid for all the pans. I used the plates to cover the pans. The burners need to be replaced as they were at such an angle that even cooking was very hard to achieve. We discovered the last day that the garbage disposal leaked a bit as well. This is a very cute beach home but it is lacking upkeep. There was no information on garbage days, recycling, and check out procedures. This property needs some TLC to make it a top pick.

Constant roof leaks in multiple areas. Great view and beach access.

The property is in a great location, has beautiful ocean views, and easy beach access. This is the primary reason why we chose Nova Grande. That being said, we were extremely disappointed to find the roof leaking in several areas. Leaks were located directly above two of my teen son’s beds, and both boys woke up to rain dripping on their beds multiple times. Four out of the seven nights we stayed were filled with moving furniture to avoid leaks and placing towels to clean up the mess. Another leak was directly above the couch, and the couch and surrounding carpet were soaked. The proper steps were taken to notify the property manager and absolutely nothing was done to resolve the issue. The refrigerator seal was not working on the first day of our trip. We were offered $50 in compensation on day six of our trip. Again, absolutely nothing was done to resolve the issue. Patio below the home was not useable after the dark as there are no working lights. Once gain this issue was brought up early in the trip and no attempt to even change lightbulbs was made. We are an outdoor loving family. We didn’t book the property for its luxury amenities, we booked it for it’s amazing location. However, we were expecting basic comforts such as a working refrigerator and a sturdy roof to be provided. We were disappointed to say the least.

Maintenance Horror

The house was just as expected with the layout and had wonderful, home-like charm. We were notified from day one from the property manager that there was an issue with HVAC and a leak which was hoped to be an easy fix. HVAC was already on the spot at our arrival and the property manager offered to have a carpet company bring fans so there would be less of an inconvenience with the wet carpet. HVAC was fixed but the damage was a bust. Wet carpet that required multiple fans and a dehumidifier. This was expected by the carpet company to be a three day ordeal and by our last day of us leaving they were still coming in and checking the progress. This was an inconvenience as we were unable to use the bathroom, had blocked/narrow walkways to second bedroom and not to mention all the noise. The property manager was easily available, and the HVAC and carpet company staff were amazing and respectful. We are a family of six with four kids under the age of 13 and this was not what we hoped for during our Christmas vacation but we made the best of it even though it was a major dud compared to our expenses required for the vacation stay. Pros: Charm and coziness with a beautiful ocean view. Extra bedding. Plenty of kitchenware. Water hose at bottom of the stairs (needs replaced however). Cons: The obvious HVAC leak that was an ongoing issue for our entire 7 days. Cleanliness of kitchenware (cleaned food off the utensils and also had to clean the dishwasher). Crooked stovetop burners and all four did not work well. Clogged garbage disposal (my husband ended up removing three spoons and seashells which fixed this problem). Blinds did not work and were broken in the living room. Flood lights and balcony lights did not work. Ants became a problem if any food was left out on counter. No deadbolt on front door and main balcony door lock did not work and secured only with a curtain rod? which was a concern for security especially with littles on the inside. Shower head outside did not work. No beach accessories.

Purple Paradise

Loved this little cottage by the sea. It was clean when we arrived - we didn't need to contact anyone for anything. It was just what we wanted and I hope to stay there again.
