Big trees lovely coast

The surroundings here are incredible. Just be prepared to drive. House was fine, but you are definitely paying for the view not beach access.

Beautiful home, stunning views. We hope to be back when we can use the fire pit. It rained a lot, so it was the perfect place to hang out inside. Everything was clean, renovated, nicely decorated, and we loved the coffee bar, and all the kitchen items.

Beautiful house within short drive to beach

Beautiful, light, airy house with a gorgeous view and all the amenities we wanted. Description advertised only a short walk to the beach, which was not possible, as the house is on a cliff without any access down to the shore. There is a short drive to a state park that has a beach. Enjoyed the privacy and our own little get-away!

Beautiful house with great views

We spent three nights here in mid-February. In all we had two families with 7 people (4 adults and 3 ~teens). Everyone fit great and the kids really liked the loft bedroom and spent much of their time hanging out up there having fun. the other bedrooms were comfortable and the master bedroom had a great bathroom and huge shower. The interior was well kept and clean and the kitchen well stocked. We had rainy weather most of the time there, so the views were a bit hazy at times, but beautiful nonetheless. Eureka is about a 30 minute drive south and the redwood parks about 30 minutes north. It's a fairly remote location so it's good we cam well stocked with food and snacks. Overall a great location for anyone wanting to explore the north coast and the redwood parks. An added plus is the ability to bring a dog!

Idylic setting on the bluff with magical views

The house was wonderful with grassy lawns for the kids to play in and amazing views from the bluff to the ocean. There is no beach access but you can drive nearby to find sandy beaches. It is a 10-15 minute drive to Arcata, but worth the peaceful seclusion. The negatives of the house are that the bedrooms are not arranged ideally. The primary bedroom is separate and has distinct access to the outside. One other bedroom is a loft which is open to the living room area so no one could be in the living room space while someone in the loft was trying to sleep. The loft has a bunk bed. The upper bunk could use a railing. The other bedroom has a door but it is next to the kitchen so one cannot use the kitchen while someone is trying to sleep in that room.

House was great, with stellar views and an awesome yard! Would happily return. We used it as a great home base for a trip to Redwood Parks. One comment - the beach is not walking distance, it is a short drive to a state park (with entrance fee) to get to the closest beach. Thanks for helping make a great stay!

Worth the 12hrs travel from east coast

Our stay here was amazing. It’ll be at the top of the list of family memories with our young teen kids 12&14. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing base camp to enjoy all the natural beauty of the area, this fits perfectly. We were able to see whales in the distance, and binoculars are provided (no need to bring any).I recommend using the all trails app to do some research on what if any trails your group wants to explore.

Perfect Redwood base!

This property couldn't be better placed for a Redwoods vacation. You're basically next door to Sue Meg State Park, and within a short drive to lots of great hiking trails in old growth forest. Great sunset views when the clouds cooperate, and the hosts make everything super easy. Thanks so much!

Excellent place to stay to visit the Redwood National and State Parks!

The views of the ocean, sunrise, and sunset from the house are absolutely amazing! We visited over Thanksgiving, so it was a bit chilly to sit outside and enjoy them, but the house is arranged in a way that allows you to appreciate the view from the comfort of indoors. From the deck, you can hear the seals barking, and there are binoculars available on a table in the dining room to spot them on the rocks. There’s an outdoor fire pit that we didn’t have time to use, but we would have loved to take advantage of it. If you want to enjoy a fire, remember to bring firewood or pick some up at Murphy’s Market in Trinidad, where you can also find fresh seafood and excellent smoked salmon. The house is equipped with every amenity you could need, including a fully stocked kitchen with both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker, as well as an air fryer and various small appliances. Soft, fluffy robes are provided for guests. I recommend bringing house socks or slippers, as the host requests that no shoes be worn inside the home. Additionally, if you drink a lot of coffee, you may want to bring extra Keurig pods or ground coffee. A grill is available, but we didn't use it during our stay. The washer and dryer are located in the garage, and soap pods are provided for laundry. Overall, you won’t be disappointed with your stay here!

Family Getaway

We stayed with our best friends and their kids for a redwoods getaway. The home was easy to access in a quiet neighborhood off the beaten path along the edge of the Pacific on the north end of Trinidad. It’s a short drive into town where Murphy’s Market did not disappoint! The home is newly remodeled and beautiful! We would definitely stay there again! The views of the ocean from the back porch are unbeatable. And the bark of the seal lions below was entertaining.

Highly recommend Seagull's Bluff!

My daughter chose the Redwood Forest area to celebrate a milestone achievement of hers, and Seagull's Bluff was the perfect home base for our mother-daughter trip! We spent a few nights at this gorgeous home. It's a beautifully decorated, spacious, and well furnished home with an incredible view of the ocean. We found it very clean and well-stocked, right down to super soft and cozy bathrobes! The entire home was completely renovated around 6 years ago according to the picture book documenting the transition. The kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, washer and dryer are high quality. There are maps, guidebooks, games, all sorts of helpful and fun goodies. The outdoor furniture could probably be updated, but I recognize that it's hard to keep outdoor furniture in good condition with the sun and ocean air. A couple minor issues (perhaps caused by our stupidity?!) were quickly resolved with the local team. The lady who helped us was so friendly and kind.  We went both north and south on the 101 to a few different Redwood parks. The groves of trees, scenery, and smells... AMAZING!! Don't miss a drive on Howland Hill Road in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. There is a grocery store (Murphy's) and restaurants just down Patricks Point Drive in the town of Trinidad. We found some of the sea lions that we heard barking away during our stay! We pulled into a small area off Patricks Point and using our binoculars, we found over 50 of them sunning and chatting on the giant rocks. You can even see some with binoculars looking off the bluff at the house. Very cool. Everything we ate, drank, saw, and experienced in this area was fabulous. Highly recommend Seagull's Bluff!

PERFECT home base for the first stop on our N California coastal road trip!

We honestly loved everything about this house and the Trinidad area. The laidback, friendly vibe made us want to stay for another week. What a cool surprise to wake up to seals barking from down below on our first morning! The house is well-supplied with everything you need to get started, and we were very pleased with the cleanliness. Our only disappointment was running out of time for an evening around the firepit. If you want a classic Northern California feel to your vacation rental, this is the home for you!
