Large, secluded property with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. Home was cozy but a little dated. Other than that it was a nice relaxing stay.

Beautiful, Imaculate, but Thumbs Down for VaCasa Prop Mgmt
Lovely location & lovely 4 BR home. We booked for just 2 nights. But without an earlier checkin (especially in winter), I'd go elsewhere for a future 2 night stay. I could tell by the calendar, the home was vacant prior to our arrival. So it seems like a checkin earlier than 4pm should have permissible. But this property uses a corp prop mgr named "Vacasa" Well, I found it impossible to reach someone of authority. When I tried to "contact the owner" about an early check in, I received an automated reply from Vacasa saying that I'd be notified by email on arrival day if an early checkin was possible. No permission was received, so we arrived at 4:15pm to a home that was 56 degrees. All other rentals I've stated at had some sort of "welcome" binder with operating instructions. This home only had a laminated card on what to do for checkout. So I had to figure out how to start the two furnaces. One was pretty easy, the other required some programming. The fireplace had one giant log with no kindling or fire starter. The power cord for the fireplace fan was too short to reach the outlet. The outside firepit had no firewood. None of these complaints would be an issue for a longer stays. But we didn't know the area, at 4:30pm on a Fri is not an ideal time to go hunting for firewood. I called the 3 numbers I had for Vacasa. VM for 2 of them, the person that answered the 3rd call was unable to help. I would come again for a longer stay. Pretty views

Seaside Location is everything.
This home is located in a wonderful location - about equal distances to the north and south portions of the Redwood Parks. The outdoor pictures can't do the location justice. As for the home itself, while adequate, this property is dated and could use some TLC. Those who are looking for a "rustic" or "quaint" experience will find something akin to the rustic cabin like accommodations in the parks, rather than a well appointed home or hotel.
