Maureen and Peter were fantastic hosts! They were incredibly friendly and responded very quickly to all of our questions and requests before and throughout our stay. Their helpfulness made our trip so much smoother. The house itself was excellent — spacious, comfortable, and more than enough room for our group of 7. We never felt crowded and everyone had a great place to relax.Location-wise, this property is perfectly situated. It’s just minutes from the charming town of Trinidad, which has fantastic restaurants and a really good grocery store. It’s only a 30-minute drive to Redwood National and State Parks, making it super convenient for day hikes in some of the most beautiful areas of the park. We also appreciated that the house is only 10-15 minutes from the ACV airport. The home was very well-equipped with everything we needed — plenty of kitchen supplies, bathroom essentials, and all the things to make our stay feel effortless and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely book again. Highly recommend!
We had a great stay in the Dream House! It’s in such a pretty wooded area! Enjoyed the hot tub and having a fire in the fire pit. The master bedroom and bathroom were so nice to stay in! Every room had a nice view.Every floor had a place you could go outside . Our hosts wrote back immediately if we had any questions.
Big enough for 10 people and pet friendly were key to this place. Winter in the redwoods is wet, so it was difficult to appreciate the decks and outdoor seating areas. The house is well stocked, and the photos accurately depict the rooms which are cozy but nothing fancy. There are several other structures on the property so there wasn’t a huge sense of remoteness, but lots of lovely foliage. The town and beaches are super close, definitely walkable for most. The nearby beaches are stunning and the old growth redwoods in the area are the reason we stayed there-absolutely beautiful forests and trees within 30 minutes driving. The hot tub and sauna were highlights after big hikes in the state parks. This is a nice large house with more of a cabin feel that could use some freshening but is worth staying at if you have pets and a large group. I imagine it’s even sweeter in the summer when you can enjoy the outdoor spaces.
Large enough for a large group to be together or find time alone. Very comfortable. So many beautiful hikes and amazing giant redwoods. Not to mention the beaches!A group of us got up each morning to walk the low tides. Magical. Sweet little town with great food and lovely people.
The pictures online showed a swing set for children, that was on me of the reasons we picked that location , there wasn’t one. Also they don’t tell you until you are checking in that the dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms. I had to sleep downstairs on a couch to be with the dogs , as they would never stay down there on their own. We did not use the hot tub.
So at first i was a little concerned cuz i didnt think we had enough room but after figuring out sleeping arrangements it was fine. We were a pretty large group but with all the outside sitting ww managed just fine. Its a nice quit place with little trails that keep the kids busy for hours. The place is clean and comfortable. I do recommend that if you have a bigger group to rent this house and the other one on the property as well.
Just perfect. Everything and especially the location were among the best I ever encountered.
Unfortunately we had only one night in this excellent house (on the way back from vacation). If we had known in advance we will have spend many more nights there.
Definity will be back for an extended stay.

Overall disappointed
When I saw all the amazing reviews for this property its what made me decide to dish out the extra cost. I paid just over 1700 with fees for two nights and maybe I had too high of expectations given the price but when we walked into the house there was an immediate odor and lack of cleanliness. We immediately opened all the windows but that didnt seem to help. I will say the second floor was better but overall we ended up leaving after the first night. My son is allergic to dust and certain dogs and he was having bad reactions. I let the host know we were leaving early and she said she hoped my son was okay and safe travels. This really disappointed us. We loved the outside of the property but given the circumstances I was hoping for a refund of somesort or a chance to clean the home itself. Overall my families health is more imprtant which is why we left. I do not recommend if you are a generally cleasnley person or sensative to smells. If the house was clean I would have given a 5/5. Its a beautiful property and very unique home.
Our family had a wonderful time at Maureen and Peter’s Dream House in the Woods at Trinidad! The house has such a cool design and offers a lot of areas to sit and enjoy the sun filtering in through the towering redwoods. The beds were super comfy, and the kitchen had all the necessities to make all our meals. The hot tub and sauna were great and were in good working order. I even made time to stretch in the yoga room. We enjoyed our morning coffee on one of the two sun decks, admiring the natural setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this gorgeous, wooded home.
