About this property
St Anthony's Cottage, Porlock Weir
A perfect cottage for two couples or a family of 4 (sorry, no children under 11) looking for luxurious accommodation, garden and fantastic views. Two downstairs bedrooms (one king-sized double and one twin) with doors that open onto an elevated deck. Upstairs is a stunning open plan living area.
Main Description
The open-plan living area is upstairs and offers panoramic views of the local coastline and South Wales. There is a wall of glass doors that can be fully opened on warm days. There is also a dining area and well equipped kitchen.
Downstairs there is sleeping accommodation for four (one king-size and one twin room). The twin room has an en-suite shower room, plus there is a family bathroom, comprising bath with shower over, toilet and hand basin.
Wireless broadband is available, it's generally fine for streaming (around 30mbs) but it is a radio signal from a nearby mast and is sometimes affected by bad weather unfortunately.
Sorry, but strictly no children under the age of 11.
St Anthony's is fitted with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave, electric oven and hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses, smart television, and radio.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. St Anthony's Cottage benefits from gas central heating plus a wood burner in the living room. Kindling,, matches and one basket of logs will be provided. Additional logs can be purchased from the hardware shop in Porlock and we request that you replace any logs used from the store outside the front door..
High quality bed linen, duvets, pillows and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels for use outside the cottage.
Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There is a salt and pepper mill.
Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, washing powder and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.
St Anthony's Cottage has a decking area on the ground floor with steps leading down to the large private garden. Weatherproof external tables and chairs are provided. There are also a couple of deck chairs in the shed.
There is an off-road parking area for 2 cars. The parking area is 20 metres to the west of the house with pedestrian access to the house either along the lane (no steps) or through the garden (with steps).
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (strictly a maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £15 will be added to your invoice per dog. Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture or in the bedrooms and do not leave them alone in the property at any time. We cannot guarantee the security of the garden boundary, so please supervise dog(s) when you let them out
St Anthony's Cottage is strictly non-smoking.
Arrival and departure
The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Parking
The parking area for 2 cars is approx 20 metres to the West of the house with access to the house either along the lane (no steps) or through the garden (with steps). We recommend using the lane route when bringing in your luggage.
Pets Description
The garden is large, and we cannot guarantee that dogs will not be able to get out of it onto the lane if left out unattended. Therefore please supervise your dogs at all times when in the garden.

Porlock Weir is a picturesque harbour village on the Exmoor National Park coastline in Somerset, with a history stretching back to the 15th century. The small tidal harbour, with its ancient lock gates and pebble beach, sits at the heart of a thriving community.
You'll find a welcoming pub, restaurants ranging from relaxed dining to Michelin-listed Italian cuisine, cosy cafes, and a popular street food takeaway -- all within walking distance of the harbour. Independent shops and galleries line the lanes, including Exmoor Glass, the Harbour Gallery, and Porlock Bay Oysters, which opened expanded premises in 2024.
The larger village of Porlock is approximately one mile away and has a broader range of amenities including grocery shops, a traditional butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre, and a selection of independent restaurants and tea rooms. Most shops in Porlock and Porlock Weir keep hours of 9am to 5pm, often extending during the summer season.
Porlock Weir was recently used as a filming location for The Salt Path, the adaptation of Raynor Winn's bestselling memoir about walking the South West Coast Path.
