Decent place to stay in Wimberley
My 12-year-old daughter and I stayed at the Summermoon Farmhouse for a girls weekend getaway. Overall, we thought the cabin was ok, with several pros and cons...
Pros:
Everything in the cabin is new and well-maintained.
The cabin was clean, and there was no clutter in our way.
Plenty of space for at least 4 people, with 2 bedrooms and a good-sized living/kitchen area.
Quiet, secluded area, away from the crowds in town.
Simple check-in/check-out process.
Cons:
There is nothing to do on the property or within walking distance, other than watching tv or come up with your own entertainment. We would have liked to be able to hike around and explore outside, but the cabin is on a small, fenced property with really nowhere to walk around and enjoy, unless you want to walk laps around the RV park.
The decor is too "minimalist", to the point where it almost seems like they didn't finish it, and it doesn't feel cozy or homey. If there were window treatments in the living area and a few things on the walls, it would feel less stark and more comfortable.
The lack of window coverings in the living/kitchen area made me feel nervous and exposed, especially at night. I would have been much more comfortable here if there were blinds or curtains that could be closed for privacy.
Overall, the farmhouse was ok, and could easily be improved with just a few additions. If we come back to Wimberley again, we will probably look for somewhere else to stay.
