The quiet comfortable apartment is situated on the ground floor of an 18th century monumental building in the Jordaan district. The area is famous for history, trendy shopping, bars and restaurants. And is situated in the city centre of Amsterdam. Apartment is located 50 metres from Prinsengracht, hundred metres from Noordermarkt, 500 metres from Anne Frankhouse with free view on Violettenstraat.

Markets
Twice a week there is a local market (Monday: flee market and on Saturdays a farmer market).

Close to the canals
The apartment borders the canal district, is close to the Ann Frank House and nearby all other sight-seeing attractions in town (5- 20 minutes walk).

Living/dining
The apartment is well furnished in an understated fashion. The apartment is 110 sq m (about 1050 sq ft). Renovated kitchen and bathroom (end 2012). The living/dining room has a superb view in front and a patio at the rear. The sofa also serves as two/three separate(quest) beds. There is a cable TV and stereo with CD-player. There is a computer with wi-fi.

The kitchen has an oven, coffee-maker, dishwasher and microwave.

Bedroom
The very quiet bedroom is at the rear and behind this bedroom there is a large bathroom with toilet/bath and separate shower. The bedroom has a double (not separable) bed of 2.00-2.00. It is very quiet and has open doors to the patio. Childbed available. There are three bikes available.

Perfect location!

A large first floor apartment in a perfect location in the Jordaan. The apartment is surrounded by great bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

4 day stay

Checkin was great. Paul was to meet us, even after we got lost he waited for us. Gave us information about surounding area, The location is very good, easy walk to almost everywhere. Loved that it was in a traditional building, but the inside is a little tired. Some of the furniture could be updated ( both sofas ) the court yard needed some major cleaning, and maybe a fresh coat of paint and updated art inside would be nice. It was close to as pictured. We did love the size. When we come back, we would stay here again

Amazing location and comfy beds

This place came with a stove top, microwave, fridge, and kitchen sink. We could have made meals here but ended up not having to. The beds and blankets were really comfortable. My daughter said the sofa bed was even nice. There's an Albert Heinz and Etos right around the corner. It's close to markets and canal tours and the Anne Frank house and a 'pancake' place that is more like crepes. It's not super close to transportation but in a city where walking is the norm I didn't mind. I would definitely stay here again!

Bien situé et espacé

Malgré quelques défauts, le logement est charmant, grand, bien fonctionnel et équipé (lave linge, lave vaisselle...).Au cœur du quartier touristique (Jordaan), les principaux endroits sont accessibles à pied. Les supermarchés ou magasins... sont juste à côté. Bref, nous y avons passé un très bon séjour.

Brilliant Location

The property is centrally located, just a short walk from Anne Franks house and approx 10 mins from Dam Square . The property is not 5 star, however it was perfect for what we needed it for to rest our heads after exploring Amsterdam. Communication with Paul was very easy through the VRBO app Nd we really enjoyed the stay and will be back!!

Basic but great central location

Only met Paul briefly after arrival. Always very prompt responding to pre visit questions. Property itself very spacious, extremely quiet residential area yet on doorstep sightseeing attractions. I know very reasonable price for location but I do agree other reviews that property has so much potential if it had a bit of minor work done on it e.g repaint walls, tidy up courtyard area, various internal repairs. Overall it suited us fine for a 3 day stay to enable us to see much of the city & had ample cooking utensils & cookware for self catering yet good variety eateries nearby.

Idéalement situé

Appartement spacieux, bien chauffé et idéalement situé dans le cœur d'Amsterdam. Les échanges avec le propriétaire ont été faciles. Cependant, les photos ne correspondent plus exactement au logement. Les meubles de la cuisine sont abîmés, de vieux condiments traînent sur le plan de travail. Les tiroirs et portes de l'armoire dans la chambre s'entrechoquent, je ne sais pas comment elle tient encore debout. Les vélos ne sont pas les mêmes que sur les photos. La terrasse n'est pas rangée. Niveau propreté, poussière un peu partout, cheveux dans le lavabo , le grille pain avait encore des miettes et la cafetière non lavée. Sinon, les draps étaient propres, les lits sont confortables. La rue est plutôt calme, c'est agréable, un magasin très proche pour les courses et tout peut se faire à pied. Nous étions dans l'appartement uniquement pour le repas du soir et y dormir, donc on a plutôt apprécié notre séjour..

Un taudis délabré

Je suis coutumier des logements Abritel, mais là je crois qu'on a touché le fonds, effectivement les logements à Amsterdam sont chers, notre logement était un peu cher que les autres (569 euros pour 3 nuits) quand même..., notre hôte nous a accueilli (10 minutes top chrono), une bouteille de vin nous était offerte, merci. Mais l'état du logement au secours, dans son jus..., aucun travaux n'a été fait depuis très longtemps, l'électricité, électroménager, literie, tout est à revoir, j'ai eu peur d'attraper des punaises de lit (literie sale et repoussante), si malgrè mon commentaire vous prenez cette location, c'est que vous n'êtes pas difficile, cerise sur le gateau, le logement était soit disant adapté au fauteuil roulant manuel, on a eu bien du mal à rentrer dans le logement et à en ressortir, je ne comprends même pas qu'on puisse proposer ce logement en location, en espérant que mon évaluation permettra à des vacanciers de ne tomber dans ce taudis délabré

Tolle Lage aber renovierungsbedürftig

Die Bilder entsprechen nicht mehr der Realität.Zuerst: Die Lage der Wohnung ist einfach toll. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Alles funktioniert. Es ist sauber und warm (wir waren im Winter da). Allerdings hat der Zustand der Wohnung nicht mehr viel mit den Bildern zu tun. Hier hat der Zahn der Zeit einige Spuren hinterlassen. Die Wände sind zum Teil feucht, der Zustand des Badezimmers ist stellenweise katastrophal, die Matratzen sind nicht mehr funktional. Wirklich sehr schade, denn mit liebevollerer Betreuung wäre die Wohnung wunderschön und in der Lage einfach perfekt.In diesem Zustand sicher ok für junge Leute/Studenten, dann passt meines Erachtens aber der Preis nicht. So jedenfalls passt die Leistung nun gar nicht zum Preis. Für Familien oder gar Senioren eher nichts. Dabei wäre die ebenerdige Lage ideal...Wir sind jedenfalls einen Tag eher abgereist.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ge logement très bien situé dans un quartier calme. L'hôte est disponible et très accueillant. Dommage que l'appartement soit pas vraiment entretenu vu le potentiel qu'il possède. Je recommande si vous n'êtes pas trop regardants sur la propreté.

Central and convenient for exploring Amsterdam

Ideal central location for exploring Amsterdam. Very close to Anne Franks House. Large and warm apartment with very comfortable bed and a hot powerful shower. There’s a small outside patio too. The apartment was equipped with everything you needed and more for a stay in Amsterdam. There are numerous restaurants and bars within 10 mins walking and several bakeries and supermarkets. The host is on hand to answer any questions you may have. It was a lovely touch, greeting us with a bottle of wine. We’d love to stay again when we next visit Amsterdam. Thank you!

Very unusual property, obviously very old. A few cosmetic changes in the living area, and a bathroom makeover would enhance the stay immensely. Comfortable couches and rugs would make it more homely. Location is awesome for walking everywhere, the sun even made an appearance.

Perfect location and base to come and go

I went with my three daughters for a long weekend. The location is absolutely perfect for walking and exploring the beautiful city of Amsterdam. With the canals and markets just a couple of minutes from the front door it has everything you need and a supermarket just round the corner. If you are looking for immaculate and pristine interiors, thiabisnt rhenplace for you, but if you want a base to pop back to during the day that is comfortable and has all the basics you need for an affordable price then I can't rate Paul and this apartment highly enough. (The pin drop on the map isn't quite right so make sure to use the address not the pin drop.) I will absolutely be back here again, it had everything we needed for our weekend of adventures!

I'm living here now for almost 30 years. I saw this area rising to the nicest area in Amsterdam. I live here now with my family upstairs. The plan is in the future to live at the basement as well. It is a beautifull place with a beautifull patio. I put a new bathroom and kitchen in it at the end of 2012 because of two reviews. Because I'm living upstairs I don't want any complaints.

Why they chose this property

It is still a quiet apartment in the middle of the centre. For me it is the best neighbourhood of Amsterdam.

What makes this property unique

You can walk/cycle to every part in the centre within 10-15 minutes. Lot of restaurants and bars. Markets and good shops. Within 10 minutes in a park. In fact everything is available.
