Cozy Log Cabin - Walk to Lake Huron!

Nature awaits. Enjoy the tranquility of a private property with loads of amenities including a firepit, gas bbq, washer/dryer, large deck & gazebo, gas fireplace, wood stove, hammock & more. The cabin sleeps 6 adults comfortably and offers incredible charm. Black's Point Beach is a 7 min walk. Enjoy Lake Huron’s famed sunsets, or plan day trips to one of the neighbouring towns (Bayfield, Goderich or Blyth). Cross listed on Cottages in Canada & Air b nb.

Note: Loft is accessed by a spiral staircase and may not be suitable for small children or people with mobility issues.

Please note: The cottage is in a rural/wooded area. We take all precautions available to keep pests at bay however during the spring and summer there will be mosquitos, black flies and other bugs outside. In the colder months we hire a pest control company to keep mice out but on occasion there have been signs of mice. Guests should keep food in the cupboards.

Large, cozy, rustic log cabin with a well-stocked kitchen, two comfortable living rooms, and beautiful property and patio area. We enjoyed all of our meals in the dining gazebo (except on one rainy day). About 20 minute walk to a quiet beach. A wonderful retreat.

Just like it says…cozy log cabin! Has all amenities with utmost charm. Quiet peaceful and suited 5 adults just fine! Dinners in backyard under screened in gazebo great to keep wasps out. Has toys for kids and dog if family coming. 10min drive to main beach Goderich and walkable smaller beach end of road and down steep path. Ok for most adults unless you have some mobility issues walking. Great bakeries in Goderich! Sunsets stunning …love Lake Huron. Thank you Leslie and Steve for hosting us!

Little Slice of Cottage Heaven

Property was just great, lots of indoor space, and large outdoor space. Cottage has the perfect Rustic slow down and relax vibe going on. Owners were very helpful with any of our needs or questions. Would definitely go back and recommend.

We enjoyed 3-generation family time at this cottage. The host Leslie has taken care of every detail, and we really lacked for nothing, even a sewing kit when our daughter needed to repair some pants. We had one challenge with our 6'2" grandson who could not get into the loft area without bumping his head, but slept all right on the couch. Our younger grandkids really enjoyed their privacy in the upstairs loft. Maybe it was the time of year, but the bugs were pretty bad, so we were thankful to play games and have our dinners in the screened in gazebo. It was a good family time for these two seniors. Beautiful Fall Vibes Log Cabin

This cozy cottage has incredible fall vibes with a cool loft, stone fireplace, and sun room in the back! It is a nice location, it feels remote, although you are a short drive from Goderich. It's a pretty short walk to Blacks Point Beach, which is so cool. Gravel trail down the bluffs to a nice, but a bit rocky, beach with a nice view north to Goderich and the lake in general. Our host was very nice and check-in and check-out process was very easy. We wish we had booked a longer trip!

Girls getaway

This cabin is beautiful. Went with some girl friends for a weekend away. Lots of room for laughter and conversations. Beds were very comfortable. We will be back. Highly recommended it.

A Gem of a Cabin

Black’s Point Cottage is indeed a Happy Place, a serene and charming retreat. It is very clean, cozy and thoughtfully decorated, with full attention to detail. Leslie obviously wants her guests to enjoy themselves there, and they do. The beds are comfortable and all the amenities are provided. There were only two of us staying, for a brief time, so we didn’t make use of many of these, and although we were fortunate in the weather, we didn’t make much use of the outdoors and grounds. But I can imagine how pleasant it would be to be there later in the season. Leslie was wonderful to deal with throughout. Highly recommended!

A lovely quiet spot near the beautiful town of Goderich. Many nearby golf course - a bonus for the golfer in the family. The kitchen is well stocked with every kind of basic condiment, oil, vinegar, soy etc. Next time we’d know and bring fewer tiny jars with such things from home. (Not all cottage rentals are so thoroughly stocked up.)The layout is very good for families with some members who go to bed earlier in that the TV for watching dvds is in a back extension so the sound doesn’t carry up to the 2nd floor loft sleeping spaces. Although the week we went was cool enough at night that we didn’t need the available air conditioning, this had been a very hot summer and we might well have needed it. Good to have the option. Check in was easy. The living room was comfy for a rainy day with lots of family games and books but we spent most of our time outside in the hammock, on the back deck, or having meals in the screened portion of the back deck.Would recommend!

Great Gals Getaway

Longtime friends stayed at this charming home that had such a warm and cosy feeling. The kitchen was well equipped. The ladder going to the second floor room is a little tricky for 65-year-old knees, but younger folks wouldn’t have much of an issue. We even managed to take a dip in the lake in Oct. It was quite private, and the lawn was spacious enough to play fetch with the dog. Leslie was a gracious hostess, and as one participant exclaimed, I hit it out of the park with this choice!

We (2) visited the property in January. It offers so much more than we could have done in 2 days. Next time we will book for longer. It is a gorgeous property. We enjoyed the woodstove. We brought lots of things with us that we didn't need to as the place has everything you can think of in the kitchen, bathroom etc. We could imagine a larger group for a fun summer family getaway. Thank you !

Picture Perfect

We stayed at the cabin for 2 lovely weeks and truly enjoyed the entire experience. From the moment we sent in our request to rent to the time we checked out, Leslie and Steve were extremely wonderful hosts. They answered all our questions in a timely manner (almost always immediately!) and were very friendly and helpful. The cabin itself has everything you can think to make you feel right at home from the moment you step inside. The kitchen has all the appliances, dishes, cookware to make as simple a meal or as gourmet as you want. They even have a Belgian waffle maker! The BBQ grill outside on the deck was perfect for grilling out while you sat on the shaded deck to enjoy the beauty and quiet of the yard. It is a short walk to Black Points Beach and while the beach is not the largest there is enough space to relax and get in the lake to cool down. If you want a nice and quiet retreat to relax and get away from it all this is the place to go!

We had such an amazing time at this unique cabin near Lake Huron. Everything was warm and inviting—from the welcome card and gift of honey to the wee (crocheted, not alive! ) mouse hanging out over the kitchen table. Not to mention the beautiful chimes outside the sunroom—I would love to know where they came from. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Leslie and Steve.

Cozy vacation cabin

This cabin had everything needed for a relaxing stay! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, the living room had books games and puzzles. We enjoyed grilling and dining on the deck. The hosts thought of everything!

A truly "Happy Place"

We stayed a week at this amazing property. From getting details from Leslie to our arrival right through the entire stay we loved it. There were tiny details (like a wee pot of honey) that made a spectacular place even sweeter. We spent our time exploring the area and relaxing on the deck or in the sunroom. Perfect stay - thanks!

Snow globe experience!

The cabin is so quaint and inviting. There is absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the essentials. The two sitting areas were well used and the wood stove area was beautiful to sit in and look out at the snow falling. It was perfect!

Great winter getaway!

We meet up with our adult kids and had a great weekend together. We loved that the cottage we spacious enough that we could enjoy quiet reading time by the gas fireplace ot tv by the woodstove. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals.

My husband, Steve and I have a combined 35 years experience in hospitality and enjoy a love of travelling ourselves. Together we love creating lasting memories and experiences for friends and guests. Steve worked for 5 years at the Banff Springs Hotel, and we met while both working at the Chateau Lake Louise. Steve’s favourite role with Canadian Pacific was bartender at the Works Ski Lounge at the Banff Springs where he had the pleasure of serving guests from near and far including some very familiar household names!

I began in the service industry managing my parents B&B and antique business in Stratford during my teens. I then was a server and later manager for both a restaurant in Stratford and at the Chateau Lake Louise. I also spent time working as a Front Office Supervisor in Lake Louise. Needless to say, these combined experiences provided us with lots of training and knowledge of premium service. Having both worked at some of Canada’s most iconic properties and learning the art of what exceptional service looks like, we are excited to share our happy place with you and help you create lasting memories!

Why they chose this property

We've always dreamed of owning and living in a log cabin. When we saw this property we knew it was the one! It's our retirement project and we couldn't be happier!
