About this property

Beautiful 17th century restored sheepfold, in nature, near the Mediterranean sea

Beautiful 17th century sheepfold, restored, surrounded by nature, near the Mediterranean sea

AMBALAO is a very pretty 17th century stone sheepfold, which combines charm and comfort.

WARNING: this place is magical and exudes a real atmosphere of serenity, it is absolutely not a villa on the Côte d'Azur!
Ambalao is atypical, ecological and autonomous, appreciated and adored by those who are looking for calm, authenticity and quiet holidays with the incredible luxury of being surrounded by hundreds of hectares of wild nature...

Far from the crowds and noise, it benefits from an exceptional site, which will be yours alone, because access to the hills is reserved in summer for those who live there.

IMPORTANT : ACCESS: At the beginning of 2023, the track leading to Ambalao has finally been redone, and it is no longer necessary to have a 4x4 to come!
An ordinary car may be suitable, but still not a low-slung car, it remains a dirt track and sometimes rocky.
If you have any doubt, contact us telling us which car you have and we will tell you if it is suitable :)

Exceptional calm and yet the mythical beaches of the Côte d'Azur are very close, quickly accessible (Saint Raphaël, Saint Aygulf, Les Issambres, Sainte Maxime ...) indeed the property is located on the western part of the Gulf of Saint Tropez.

It offers you a restful calm, the beauty of its old stones, a delicious sweetness of life, the freshness of its swimming pool, and breathtaking views of the Provencal hills, among cork oaks, mimosas and lavenders.

Imagine your vacation rocked by the song of the cicadas ...
They will be unforgettable because everything has been thought out for everyone's pleasure.

Immerse yourself in the pool and its spring water,
take a seat on a wooden deckchair,
relax under the shade of the straw hut.

Dream or contemplate the stars, lying in the vast hammock stretched between two cork oaks ...

Bask on the two large wooden terraces that line the house.

They welcome, one, the large plancha, an irresistible daybed covered with cushions, a large table and benches that bring everyone together for joyful and convivial meals ...

the other comfortable seats to sit, read, play, and let your gaze get lost in the hills, almost endlessly, to the foothills of the Alps ... and why not, meditate ...

Hikers and mountain bikers, you will traverse the kilometers of tracks which cross the hills which surround you and will take you along to discover dazzling nature and landscapes.

Play with family and friends: table tennis, pétanque, Mölkky, sandbox and toys for your children…

Pick up from the well-stocked library, where books on flora, fauna, stars, tourist guides, novels, board games, etc. coexist.

As an ECOLOGICAL SITE, Ambalao lives in perfect and total energy autonomy. Its solar panels and spring water allow the house to operate in complete independence and tranquility.

THE HOUSE

All the rooms have retained their old character, the interior walls are made of warm antique stones and the artisanal and blond terracotta floors.
For your comfort, the beds are fitted with large mosquito nets made especially for Ambalao.

ON THE GROUND FLOOR

A living room, with 2 comfortable sofas, a library, a large fireplace (exclusively usable in winter), opens onto a large outdoor wooden terrace.

A lovely round room with stone walls, with a large 160 bed, shelves, and 2 windows opening onto nature, a real cozy nest.

A cuisine that combines authenticity and modernism. Carefully thought out and equipped for your comfort, it has a large fridge / freezer, a washing machine, a dishwasher, numerous dishes and cookware.

A bathroom where the toilet area is located, encased in a stone niche.
A large sink, large antique mirrors, and a nice, comfortable and contemporary walk-in shower complete the picture.

UPSTAIRS

A bedroom, with a nice, old double bed, in 140, very clear with its high windows through which we discover the blue intensity of the Mediterranean sky.

A 2nd bedroom (communicating), under the roof, also charming, whose window overlooks the large wooden terrace, with a large bed, in 160, as well as a single bed, and a nice old sink overhung by a old mirror.

We have published many photos but do not hesitate to ask us for any information that you would miss and would be useful to you.
