Hosts were great, very accommodating and helpful with whatever we needed. They do have WiFi but the experience you have will make up for the lack of cell reception. The wild life was fun to watch. Swimming the river was amazing. All in all it was a great time and was nice to get away from city life for a bit.

Wasn’t exactly what we expected going by the pictures of the property and surrounding area. The picture of the river was deceiving unfortunately. Since it was with pictures of the bunkhouse, we thought the bunkhouse was right on the water. All in all, our stay was ok.

We very much enjoyed our stay, bunkhouse was very cozy, clean and family friendly. We loved the open space and very short distance to the private river. My kids had a blast tubing down the river, saw some small fishes and were able to feed the owner’s small goats. The owners were also extremely helpful with directions and provided great hospitality. Hoping to rebook again for the summer!

Great experience during our weekend stay! Hosts are so sweet and took kids out to feed the goats and see animals on their property. Water was low but that was expected still found a great spot to swim and fish! Kids had a blast exploring looking for stones and fossils. Very kid friendly. Over all great experience!

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The river is just a short drive (or walk) from the cabin, and was very accessible from multiple points. The hosts had laminated maps that showed us exactly where to park and get it. Only a few other families at the river, so nobody felt crowded. The water was clear, cool, and running nicely! The cabin was cozy and the outdoor kitchen is great. The hosts were thoughtful about what folks might need. The property is nice and quiet and the front porch and grilling area are shady and peaceful. Loved the outdoor fans too! They kept us nice and cool while we enjoyed being outside. Our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and largely let us do our own thing, but were available if we needed them. The porch is closed in with a nice latching gate, so we didn’t have to worry about leaving our pup outside while we explored. We will absolutely be back!

Hostesses were excellent. Tried to help with all your needs. Even allowed our kids to help feed the drawf goats and chickens. The water was excellent nice and cold. Will stay again!!

Weekend gareaway

We enjoyed this place so much! Dan and his wife are so nice and friendly! They invited us to feed the chickens, goats and have us some fresh eggs for breakfast! Will stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay! The hosts were so nice and welcoming. We loved all of their animals plus the wild animals that visited. We saw rabbits, deer, and racoons in addition to the chickens, goats and nearby longhorns, sheep and a pony. It was very comfortable and peaceful. We loved the outdoor/indoor living concept. While we had no phone service, our wifi worked great.

Relaxation on the Frio

We had friendly hosts, excellent amenities and an overall rewarding experience, especially for the little ones. If you are looking for a truly relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle, this is the place.

Girls trip

My friends and I had a great stay. The hosts were great. We enjoyed how secluded it was and even had a little spot at the river to hang out in during the day. Perfect set up and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend!

These friends get together every year. We felt lucky to have them here this year. Any hosts should hope this group picks them next year. Everybody was great. They took very good care of the Bunkhouse. It even rained after they left!

Perfect place for families

Our family loved this cabin! The outdoor living/kitchen area was our favorite. It was great to disconnect with no TV! The kids enjoyed exploring, feeding the animals and stomping around in the river. The outdoor games were a great addition for us. The owners are wonderful! We cannot wait to visit again!

Great out of the way little place

Great place for a home base in the area. Clean comfortable beds, and small outdoor kitchen was all we really needed. FYI no cell service at the bunkhouse and WiFi is weak and patchy. But we enjoyed our time there.

We enjoyed your stay. We found the problem with the wifi after you left. The neighborhood suffered a huge lightning strike, the phone company replaced a lot of fried routers, I even replaced our wiring for the landline and the router. The internet lives again at the Bunkhouse! See you guys again.

Dan was a super attentive host and was very awesome when he refunded our money after the Frio flooded the day we were suppose to check in. He gave us proper directions and kept us up to date on the river situation to keep us out of harms way. Can't wait to try this palce next summer!
