Welcome to the Viewhouse in Lanikai. Our family has owned, renovated, and lovingly maintained this special property since 2003, and we are delighted to share our piece of paradise with guests from around the world. Many of our visitors return year after year, and several have stayed with us more than 20 times.
The Viewhouse is one of the few licensed and legal vacation rentals in Lanikai, one of Oahu's most sought-after beach communities. Perched on the mountainside above Lanikai, the home enjoys sweeping ocean views of the Pacific and the Mokulua Islands while still being just a short, easy walk to both Lanikai Beach and Kailua Beach.
Unlike many vacation rentals, the Viewhouse offers the best of both worlds: elevated views and convenient access. The property sits along the main road in Lanikai, making it easy to explore the neighborhood, beaches, hiking trails, and nearby Kailua Town.
THE SPACE
The Viewhouse occupies the entire first level of this beautiful three-story estate and is completely private. Guests do not share entrances, bathrooms, or living spaces with the other levels of the home.
The unit includes:

The home features beautiful bamboo flooring, marble countertops, Hawaiian heirloom quilts, and custom island furnishings that create a comfortable and authentic Hawaiian atmosphere.
OUTDOOR LIVING
One of the highlights of the Viewhouse is the spacious covered lanai overlooking the ocean and the Mokulua Islands. Guests often spend most of their time here enjoying morning coffee, reading, dining outdoors, or simply relaxing while enjoying the trade winds and spectacular views.

ACCESS & STAIRS
Guests enter the property from the front of the home using the brick steps and wooden staircase leading to the first-level entrance.
Please note that stairs are required to access the Viewhouse. While the unit is considered the first level of the home, it is elevated above street level and requires one flight of stairs from the parking area.

Lanikai is widely considered one of the most beautiful beach communities in Hawaii. The neighborhood is known for its quiet residential character, stunning turquoise water, offshore islands, and year-round trade winds.
The famous Lanikai Loop is approximately 2.5 miles around and is perfect for morning walks, jogging, or biking. The beach is approximately 1.5 blocks away.

A NOTE ABOUT HAWAII
Many visitors are surprised to learn that most homes in Lanikai do not have air conditioning. Thanks to the steady trade winds that flow through the neighborhood year-round, air conditioning is generally unnecessary, and guests find the natural ocean breezes very comfortable.
Winter on Oahu remains warm and pleasant, though the North Shore experiences its famous large surf season from approximately December through March.

The property was beautiful and very well appointed. Kitchen was thoroughly equipped. There was not only a grill but also charcoal and lighter fluid. Towels were hotel quality. We spent some of our week just hanging around the house. Beach and neighborhood delightful.
Very clean, nice decor, beautiful location, and easy to access. The only negative is that the gardeners came before even 8am on our checkout day and were working with loud chainsaws, leafblowers, and the rest!
Our family of 4 absolutely LOVED our week here. Location cannot be beat! The amenities were as described and the murphy bed in the main living area was comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is a quick instruction guide for renters (operation of blinds, kitchen items, where the washer and dryer are located and how to operate, etc) We figured most everything out but took some trial and error. The property owner was great with communication. Would definitely stay here again. It's our favorite beach and town and hike in Hawaii!

Location was outstanding - a very short walk to the best beaches on Oahu (altho a bit too far to walk to town). View from deck is peaceful, but you will hear neighbors. There were a couple maintenance issues to which the manager was responsive.
A great place to stay if you wanna feel like a local. Located right off the Lanikai Loop, the rental is nestled in a vibrant residential community. The apartment itself was quite roomy for myself, husband and two teenaged girls. We used the patio everyday for morning coffee and cooked out several nights with the mini charcoal grill. There is a lovely view with a peak-a-boo view to the ocean.The beach, restaurants and grocery stores are nearby and conveniently located. There are two bikes to use (no lock) and 4 beach chairs in good condition. I would definitely rent here again.
Everything was perfectly organized and we loved the penthouse apartment. Amazing views of Lanikai and locations is only 5mins walking from the nicest beach in O'ahu.
Our stay in the Viewhouse was ideal. The short walk to gorgeous Lanikai Beach was appreciated. Very comfortable stay with many amenities. Would definitely return!
