Beautiful Gite with Private Pool and Air-conditioned Bedrooms

Luxurious fully renovated country house set in beautiful Château surroundings.
Family oriented house. Sleeps 8 comfortably, over 8 persons please contact us. The house boasts a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining area, big living room, two large bedrooms with king-size or single bedding, and two mezzanines with two single beds each, all bedrooms and mezzanines are equipped with en-suite bathroom and toilet and very recently equipped with Air Con. A shaded out-door terrace with dinning table and chairs, a Plancha BBQ, and a swimming pool.
The house is set in beautifully kept grounds with stunning views of the countryside and the château vineyard. Tennis courts, golf and canoeing are in close proximity, including a supermarket, shops and many very good restaurants within a 5 minutes drive or 20 mn walk.
For your safety, the place is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guests.
If you are a wine connoisseur or wish to improve your wine knowledge, you can book a special FREE wine tour including wine tasting at Château Le Cléret. We can also organise a visit for you at one the numerous wine châteaux in the Bordeaux, Bergerac, or St Emilion region.
No parties or loud music allowed. Damage deposit could be forfeited should noise complaints be reported.
Onsite property management. English and French spoken.

Amazing stay at the chateau

The place is beautiful and set it lovely grounds. Tom is a great host and was on hand should we need anything. He gave suggestions of things to do in the area. The gite is well equipped for a holiday and the pool was wonderful to relax in on hot days. Beds comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. We had a great stay and would love to return one day Thank you

Perfect family holiday Gite!

Loved staying here with our family from the UK who we hadn't seen for several years - Gite was perfect, hosts were very helpful and welcoming, location was great. Loved the pool and the location close to the Dordogne River - lots of bar-b-ques (being from NZ) which went very well with the Le Cleret wine. Thank you Michele and Andre!

Enjoyable 4 night stay

My husband and I along with 2 other couples in our 60's booked our stay. The loft is not suitable for adults so I would advise against booking it for full size adults. One couple ended up staying at a hotel instead. However, the two large bedrooms were great. Comfy beds, great bathrooms, nice towels and a nice kitchen. Michèle and Andre were lovely and went out of their way to make our stay great with tips on restaurants and places to visit. We also liked having onsite washer/dryer at our disposal. It's a great location for exploring Bordeaux and the Dordogne valley. It was a very lovely place to visit and a great place to stay!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en famille et entre amis dans cette très très jolie maison spacieuse, très bien équipée, avec une piscine magnifique. Nous n’avons manqué de rien. Tom qui nous a très bien accueilli a été très serviable, agréable et discret, sans que nous lui demandions il est allé acheté un matelas supplémentaire pour améliorer le couchage du lit parapluie pour notre petite fille. Je recommande les yeux fermés

Endroit agréable

Les hôtes sont disponibles. Il manque une terrasse devant la maison. Pour les repas, la table est disposée sur un sol instable et en terre et pour des jeunes enfants, ce n' est pas facile pour marcher. Aucune disposition n est prise pour les moustiques à savoir lumière et système de citronnelle pour les éloigner. Nous avons été dévorés, c est très désagréable... Cette une location agréable mais différentes choses sont à améliorer pour la rendre très confortable. À noter, la piscine est indispensable et nous en avons bien profité.

Suberbe Gite in beautiful landscape

We enjoyed our stay in Le Claret Gite very much. We were warmly welcomed and impressed about the Interieur of the house. It was spotless clean and and the kitchen had everything needed. We would love to come back.

Te duur voor hetgeen je krijgt

Bij het huren van een vakantiewoning wordt er verondersteld dat je het terras mag gebruiken! Hier is dit niet het geval want dan zit je in het zicht van de geranten. We mochten enkel aan de achterzijde gaan zitten waar het vol bomen staat en er steeds veel wind was, geen streepje zon en veel insecten. Tevens lag dit aan de drukke avenue. Je zat net op een autosnelweg. We konden dus nooit van een ochtendzonnetje genieten. Het ergste is dan nog dat we op die week tijd de geranten nooit buiten zien zitten hebben. Elke ochtend gewekt door geranten die blijkbaar boven onze slaapkamer de badkamer hadden met om 6.30 u ochtendritueel van toilet tot douche. Geen rust dus op vakantie. Uitslapen moet je hier niet doen! Zwembad is niet verwarmd. Amper 20 graden en meerendeel van de dag in de schaduw door een grote boom. Kortom de prijs is voor de helft te duur! Het huis op zich is mooi en stijlvol ingericht. Alles past mooi samen. Helaas zal het beter moeten onderhouden worden. We hebben niet kunnen genieten van een vakantiegevoel en zullen hier ook nooit nog terugkomen. Het grootste minpunt was het terras dat we niet mochten gebruiken. Dit is schandalig. Je moet naar de andere kant verhuizen terwijl het terras aan de keuken ligt, maar je dus niet mag gebruiken. Indien je dit niet mag gebruiken, hoef je dit huis niet te verhuren als vakantiewoning. Ja gaat tenslotte naar het zuiden om buiten te zitten… we hebben dan ook meerdere malen ontbijt binnen genomen.

Dear Steven, we are very sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay at Le Cléret. What you call the back is actually the front of the house, as we have always used the space under the trees for the guests to eat out. Our summers are usually so warm that people enjoy the cool shade of the trees. It is usually very hot in July and August. Unfortunately, this summer has been wet, windy and cool! I am afraid we don’t control the weather. Also, insects are part of country life. We have an environment friendly philosophy and do not use insecticides. The “avenue” is busy but I wouldn’t say it’s a motorway! After 18:00h it is quiet. The gite is set on a peaceful estate you can enjoy at your leisure. This is certainly not Bordeaux or Paris. As for the noise from the flushing toilet, we are very sorry this has disturbed you. You should have mentioned this at the beginning of your stay! We have never had a complaint in that way before and will make sure this will not happen again.

Belle demeure propre (draps) avec multiples salles de bain (baignoire+douche), décoré à minima et avec goût. Ambiance nature (vigne+centre équestre à proximité) Piscine en annexe du lieu d'habitation des propriétaires discrets et aimables. Voiture indispensable.

A real slice of Dordogne chateau luxury

Despite the mixed weather this summer we had a very pleasant weeks' stay at the Le Cleret gite. We were greeted pleasantly by Andre & Michele and given the tour of the lovely space before helping the kids decide which mezzanine rooms the boys & the girls were sharing. The adults of each family had rooms at either end of the gite. The house itself is connected to the end of the main property where Andre & Michele live. This week we were lucky enough to not have anyone staying in the Chateau itself so had the grounds and the pool all to ourselves. This turned out to be a good thing as the kids (and adults alike) went mad for the lovely cool water which is deep enough to dive into. The property is up a lovely tree-lined drive and has 2 hectares of vines growing around it. A lovely tree-shaded area creates the main outdoor section for the gite and there is a lovely view from the ha-ha looking south towards the river (although you can't quite see it). We were encouraged to use the grounds as our own and they were lovely to stroll around. The gite itself is a wonderful space. I celebrated my 50th birthday in it's cavernous recesses! A lovely long table in the main area presents itself as the centre of most activities but there's a satellite TV with UK channels in a large lounge area if needs be. Wifi was also good enough for streaming services. The 5 toilets were more than enough for our group! Both parents rooms had lovely en suites. Morning routines include a short drive, or for some of us a relaxing jog, to the local services in the pretty and sleepy Sainte Foye La Grande just along the main road or river bank (market Saturdays). Canoeing is just a stroll away across the road to the river and is highly recommended. Really the only criticism would be that the rooms were a little hot without air conditioning as we chose to keep windows closed to stave off mosquitoes but otherwise our stay was faultless. I do wonder what it would have been like with tenants/owners in the chateau... We can definitely recommend the gite at Chateau Le Cleret even if it is a little bit further west from all the main attractions of the Dordogne.
