Very nice classic house in a great beach neighborhood. Short walk to an awesome beach with tide pools and good swimming. All the local residents are really nice and we quickly became part of the local scene. The house is well equipped. Ben is a great host and really cares about his house and the guests that stay there.
Our family grew up a 5 minute walk from here so this was a perfect reunion spot. The house was built by the owners' grandparents around the same time our grandparents built ours, so the nostalgia was wonderful right down to building materials and style. There was plenty of sleeping and seating and lots of space for large dinners and family chats.. we swam several times a day as beach access is only a few houses away and we loved the private outdoor shower. Our only complaint is that the week went by too fast. Ben was wonderful to deal with and we really hope we can go again one year.
The location is great; friendly and quiet neighborhood. A short 2 minute walk to the beach allowed us to easily go back and forth, which was great for having little kids. The Owner was readily available via text and came to greet us, show where the beach access was and give some loc recommendations. There was a lot of house, plenty of space for everyone to fit, although we spent all our time on the screened-in porch anyways. Some beach amenities were provided so there was less for us to bring down which was nice. And the outdoor shower is always enjoyable by the beach! (Bring your swim shoes for the rocky shoreline, but that's typical for CT)
The grandkids had a great time with the beach so close by and we all enjoyed ourselves. The host was welcoming and gave us a lot of information of places to go eat, to do, and shop. What a great vacation!
Extremely gracious host, and beautiful location. An old family home, that has seen lots of love and good times. Room for everyone to spread out. Updated living room lighting, and furniture with sunbrella or other renter friendly fabrics would make this rental an even better destination.
