Bluegrass Cabin received its moniker due to the close proximity of the Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park that’s just across the backyard fence. Long known as the “Father of Bluegrass”, Bill Monroe founded the Bean Blossom Jamboree more than 50 years ago, as a venue for musicians to gather and ply their craft, and entertain crowds of bluegrass aficionados. Perhaps you’d like to schedule your visit during one of the music festivals held here throughout the year. There’s an interesting gift shop and museum, as well. You can sit on the porch and listen with the Festivals are going but the Owner of the festival will call the police if you trespass without a ticket so only listen from the porch or purchase a festival pass.
A predominately blue color scheme decorates the Bluegrass Cabin’s homey interior, offering one bedroom and one bath, and accommodating up to 4 people. You can all gather in the large living room around the native stone fireplace with gas logs, and rock away the day in one of the rocking chairs. Cozy and cute, the cabin offers a comfy recliner and a sleeper-sofa in the living room for some couch-potato time. A flat-screen TV with satellite service, and rustic ceiling beams add to the country ambiance.
Gung-ho fishing types should pack the tackle box and poles, since Lake Lemon is just a short 15-minute drive away. Bring home your catch and let it sizzle on the charcoal grill on the front porch, complete with chairs & such. The full kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s plenty big enough to get the job done, and includes a table for enjoying a Brown County breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Remember to pack your swimsuits so you can take a dip in the bubbling hot tub out back. When bedtime comes, a pretty quilt on the queen-size bed invites snuggling as you prepare to head off to dreamland.
All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays. Dog friendly cabins have a non refundable 75.00 pet fee per dog.
There are a couple of antiques shops in Bean Blossom…and plenty more in the surrounding area. Brown County has lots of outdoor activities to enjoy, such as trails for horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking. You can engage in zip line adventures, paintball wars, romantic carriage rides, and canoeing. Besides the "Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park," we have other entertainment venues, such as Mike's Dance Barn and the Brown County Playhouse, artists’ galleries & studios, and restaurants and shops. Come visit and see for yourself what Brown County is all about!
