Tusen Takk is Norwegian for "a thousand thanks". Our wish for your visit here is for time to relax and remember what you are thankful for and what makes your life good.

We are a bright red home located on a side street, just 4 blocks from downtown. We offer 3 bedrooms, large living and dining areas, a sweet patio spot and a fenced in yard. Start up the fire pit and share your stories around the flames. Walk downtown to your favorite coffee place and enjoy this charming town.

Great for a girls trip!

Tusen Takk was a great home base for our girls trip! The decor is cozy, the house is tucked in a quiet area, and we were really close to everything.

We had a great stay in Decorah at Tusen Takk. Janice was very quick to respond to my questions. The house was very clean, the location was absolutely great for a downtown walk when weather allowed (it was pretty humid). The house super cute, the beds were comfortable, and the window air conditioner kept the upstairs cool.

Nice place to stay!

Very cute and cozy house - our two girls loved the upstairs bedrooms. We walked to get ice cream in town. Nice area for a one night stay to break up our long drive.

This lovely older home is just as advertised… thoughtfully updated, well equipped, clean, and great location within easy walking distance to downtown Decorah. And a great collection of vinyl as an added bonus! Enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks!

Location was close to fairgrounds where wedding reception was held. Close to restaurants. Great communication with owner. She answered questions promptly and was helpful. House was Clean and organized. Clear directions given. Great place to stay!

This place was great… clean.. well located… easy to communicate with owner/manager. It was more difficult than I expected just having one bathroom… and the stair case was a bit steep with short stairs… but it was very well set up to be a VRBO… and I loved the old turntable and records!! We had fun with that!

Easy to find everything we needed except we did not find a spatula. Easy to use thermostat. The house was nicely decorated and living room sofa and chair very comfy. We used all the throw blankets too.

Nice place to stay. Only having bathroom downstairs was a bit of a drawback but that’s how it is. Very spacious downstairs- a nice place to chill out in. Nice to have coffee provided. Good to be able to walk downtown

Luther College Friends from 1971

We were impressed about how spacious the house was as the photos made it seem smaller. That was a great surprise! We all loved the house and location. The only drawback was one bathroom (altho spacious) for four 76 year old women. We also would recommend a wastebasket with a lid for the bathroom and would request bottled water due to the elevated Nitrates in the water. that has been reported in the newspapers.Thankyou!!

Pleasant place in heart of Decorah

We are friend group who came for biking in the area. We enjoyed our stay and the close location to Water street and shops/ restaurants The backyard patio was nice and home was comfortable and clean. Owners v responsive too highly recommend

Cute place close to downtown

Nice clean place. Had record player which was fun to use listening to some old records while hanging out. Would have been nice to have a bathroom also upstairs for those staying up there but not a big deal for both couple to share one. Owner communicated very well. Place was super clean with lots of little extras which made it special
