About the host

Hello, I am Lesley and together with my husband Bill came to live in The Old Schoolhouse in picturesque Anwoth in 1980 when we opened our home to B & B guests and rented out Clachan Cottage, the wee But 'n Ben next door, to self catering holiday guests. We are keen gardeners and have developed attractive gardens surrounding the cottages and produce all our own fruit and veg in the adjoining veg garden. Eight years ago we built a cottage in part of the veg garden which we moved into last year and now rent out Anwoth Old Schoolhouse for holiday accommodation together with Clachan Cottage. Over the last 30 plus years we have enjoyed sharing our home and this idyllic haven with l00's of guests making many friends along the way and hope to continue to meet and make many more friends in the years to come. We are at hand to help out with any queries you may have and advise on the wealth of things Galloway has to offer but at the same time will also respect your privacy.
2016 is our first season with Owners Direct so as yet we haven't any reviews published but reviews can be seen on our website.

Why they chose this property

Bill has travelled a good part of the world but has found this little gem in the virtually undiscovered and unspoilt corner of Scotland hard to beat. This view is shared with many of our guests who after discovering Anwoth return to the cottage time after time as is corroborated in the comments expressed in the guest book. We look forward to welcoming you to the cottage to share the same experience. Further details on places to visit in Dumfries and Galloway can be found on our website.
