Upper Silver Lake House

New in 2020. Relaxing 2 bedroom home located in a great location on "all sports" Upper Silver Lake! Sleeps 10 and ONLY 10. 1st bedroom has king bed and flat screen smart tv. 2nd bedroom has 2 bunk beds with lower bunks being queen mattresses and upper bunks being a full mattress (max weight limit on top bunk is 200 lbs) Full bathroom with tub and shower. Open kitchen, dining room and living space. Living room has a a sofa sleeper that sleeps 2. Enjoy swimming, playing in the sand, water sports or fishing off the dock (beach and dock area are shared with one neighboring cottage that we also own). Dock your boat or use the four kayaks which are included in the rental to explore Upper Silver Lake. Create wonderful memories with family and friends at our private fire pit under the beautiful stars! We are located only 2 miles from the dune entrance and our driveway is large enough to accommodate your dune toys. We do own the property next door (property id # 993063) so if you are traveling with a large group, you can reserve both places if available. No tents or campers allowed. This is a quiet neighborhood, please be respectful of the close neighbors. Please be aware that this is pet-friendly and has beach sand surrounding it. You may find a stray dog hair or traces of sand even though this place is cleaned by a professional cleaning company and laundry is professionally cleaned. If that is unacceptable to you, please find another house to rent. This one isn't for you.

Very nice place. It was clean and offered a peaceful atmosphere. There were a lot of dragon flies and bluegill off the pier near the cat tails, which was really cool. Great place to stay if you’re hitting the dunes.

Our stay was comfortable, quiet, and beautiful. We VERY much appreciated the location being dog friendly and Bernadette, our golden retriever, had a wonderful time watching the lake and the schools of blue gill while my husband fished. Would return.

Property location was perfect. Home was comfortable with window air conditioning and fans during a hot temperature week. Owner was thoughtful to ensure we had helpful information in advance of arrival. We enjoyed fishing on the canal, the shade of the covered back porch, day trips and cook outs with plenty of space for meal prep and eating with a family of 8.

We enjoyed staying on Silver Lake at this property. The deck and deck furniture are great, and I appreciate the fire pit. Every room looks newly remodeled and the beds are comfortable. The Silver Lake area is a must!

This property is located on silver lake, near all of the wonderful silverlake things you want to do. It seems brand new, as always clean, and has what you would hope would be in a beach house. This is the second time we've stayed here and we always have a good time.

Beautiful place, nice quiet neighborhood

Very nice, super cute clean cottage. Only problem is that we ended up having 4 trucks and trailers that never would they’ve fit in the driveway. Melissa owns the place right next to it where no one was staying this weekend and she allowed us to use it for parking also.. which was so appreciated. And ended working out perfectly.

Fall Michigan trip

We travel each fall to Michigan. This was our first time going north of Saugatuck and we just loved it. The home was so adorable and the views of the lake were amazing. Had our morning coffee and evening cocktails on the back porch. Close towns we visited were Pentwater, Ludington and Manistee. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Clean, Peaceful Living

Loved our stay here at Melissa's property. The interiors are clean and stylish with an open floor concept that let's the whole family enjoy their time together. Be sure to take advantage of kayaking to start and end your day -- the water is warm and clear. Have your meals on the outdoor porch to take in the peace of the water and evergreens -- its a great gathering space, especially for our dog! We will definitely be back.

One of the best Memorial Day Weekends!

We had an amazing Memorial Day weekend. Played at the sand dunes LOTS, kayaked, relaxed on the porch and enjoyed quality family time. We felt right at home. We saw turtles, deer and a momma fox and her pups. Besides having everything we needed to make home cooked meals we also got to eat at our 2 favorite spots, Chicken Shack and Tasty Creations. We will definitely be back.

Traveling with Pets

We traveled to this location for the first time with our dogs. The rental was perfect. The interior of the cottage was cute and cozy. We loved the deck which is surrounded by trees and overlooks the canal to the lake. The location is near all Lake Michigan and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. We would definitely recommend this rental and will plan to return and rent again in the future.

I really enjoyed my stay. This lakehouse had an amazing porch that I actually just sat hours on. The house came with all the necessities plus some. You can tell a lot of thought was put into your stay. The communication was amazing which made for a smooth process thru it all. The master bed was super comfy. I was thankful for the window air conditioner on the last day of my stay. Very quiet neighborhood which made for a relaxing few days. I definitely would stay here again. Super nice!!! Hidden Gem

This was the perfect vacation VRBO for a family! The pictures are spot on. Melissa did a beautiful job with the decor. Everything looks fresh and new. We brought 2 inflatable kayaks and borrowed the 2 here. Upper Silver Lake is quiet, calm, and beautiful to kayak. We enjoyed all of our meals on the covered deck, and appreciated it most when it rained. The kitchen is well stocked. Our girls loved relaxing in their hammocks, so they were overjoyed to see all of the pine trees here. The location is close enough to the Dunes and Silver Lake to make it convenient to stop back for lunch or a siesta. We absolutely would stay again. In fact, if you have any cancellations this summer, email us!

Why they chose this property

We first purchased the cottage next door and have been renting it out when we aren't using it. This property became available and we decided to purchase it and build another cottage for renting and again, for personal use.
