Beautiful house on lake with fireplace and a private deck. There were 7 adults in our group and we all loved it. The house is even nicer than the pictures show. Would love to stay again. If you need a place close to this area, no need to hesitate - you won’t be disappointed!
The house and location was absolutely perfect for us. We had a family gathering and celebrated Thanksgiving together. We were able to hike in Acadia National Park multiple days and enjoy the sunrise and sunset from the Sawyer's beautiful house.
We absolutely loved the Vrbo listing for our stay in Dedham Maine. Quite an experience with the beautiful property. No fuzz, easy booking and payment procedure. We are looking forward for more trips with Vrbo properties.

We found everything we need in the house.
We also found many interesting things we did not expect - just like a treasure island.
A good memory indeed.
Everything about the house and location was wonderful. I loved that it was surrounded by trees so from the house you do not really see the neighboring homes. It was well kept and spacious for the 5 of us and our 2 dogs. We loved the artwork and family history that adorned the walls of the home. We enjoyed the lake, fishing and kayaking, right from the back yard. Added bonus was the back yard was fenced.
I highly recommend the Sawyer house to anyone looking to stay in this area. We enjoyed the close proximity to Bangor, Bar Harbor and Acadia.
This house was amazing! Tom was very helpful before and during our stay. The house was the perfect place to celebrate graduation with family and friends. Plenty of room indoor and out. It was so peaceful sitting on the deck listening to the water. We didn’t want to leave!
The property is absolutely beautiful and the house immaculate. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Our host was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend this property for a family get away. I can not praise Tom enough....SO happy with our stay!
We really enjoyed the home. It was very spacious and the location was perfect for fishing. I would definitely recommend this house to others. Thank you very much!
Had a great trip, the house was better than expected. Ice fishing was good right in front of house.

About the host
Hosted by W Tom Sawyer
I'm a retired trucking company owner, who has played in our local bag pipe band for 37 years; and my wife is a retired Army Nurse. We've owned several small inns in Bar Harbor, Maine, and an Historic Inn in downtown Savannah over the years.
Why they chose this property
This cottage is our family's summer retreat, not a commercial venture, and been in our family for three generations. It's very isolated from neighbors, yet offers an outstanding view of Green Lake, and a short drive from Bangor to the West, Belfast to the south, and Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park to the East. We're a short drive from the Historic Lucerne In for dining out, and nearby, we-stocked grocery store, or to nearby Ellsworth for added dining, national pharmacies, and larger grocery stores.
What makes this property unique
Our 2.5 acres are serene, protected, and very quiet, with typical Maine trees and underbrush; but also includes a nice lawn toward the lake with seasonal flower gardens. Several 100-year old shrubs are outstanding when in bloom. Our very large dock is perfect for sunning, or along with our fire pit, exquisite for simply relaxing to the lake's quiet evenings and light pollution free night's stars! We enjoy steps down into the lake plus a ladder off our dock for swimming.
