Location, location, location.

The location was exceptional! Near everything - tourist destinations, restaurants, shopping, grocery, transportation center. Very clean and modern condo with all the necessities. It a was a bit difficult getting entry to the condo with our limited Spanish language and US cell phone service, but because the people of Madrid were so friendly and helpful we were able to make contact and gain entry.

Beautiful apartment in a great location for visiting Madrid

We were met at the apartment where JJ explained everything to us.This is a beautiful apartment very close to the Sol Metro stop, which makes it really convenient. It's also a great location for walking to many of the Madrid sites and museums you'll probably want to visit. My only peeve was that they didn't supply laundry soap for the washing machine.

Difficulty getting in the front door, then difficulty getting apt door open. This is a 2 room apartment with living room and kitchen as one roomAnd bedroom/bathroom as the other room. The flooring is quite worn and the bathrooms need some attention but the place was adequate for our needs as we were gone all day. The fridge and stove top did not work and the heater never warmed the place up. We blew a fuse the first night in the main room but that never got reset so we didn't have wireless connection.

The location was great, centrally located close to a transport hub and within walking distance of major sites. There was loud noise from construction work outside the apartment from 8am - 8pm all weekend which we were not informed about.

Well located.

We had a terrible start, requested an early check inn but nobody was there, we had to wait 50 minutes on the cold street and they still charged 40 Euros. We also had some issues with the apartment but Leticia never answer our phone calls.

Nous avons rencontré de grandes difficultés avec l'application pour acceder a l'appartement, pas très simple d'utilisatiion.L'appartement était conforme excepté la literie qui était complètement creusée par le temps. Inadmissible pour le confort annoncé. Dommage, car c'est le seul point que nous avons retenu et qui a énormément contribué a passer de mauvaises nuits.

Beautiful modern apartment in the heart of Madrid.

Our initial contact was very responsive to us, even though we couldn't be sure of our exact arrival time. The fellow who introduced us to the apartment didn't speak English but that didn't stop him from covering everything we needed in a quick, professional and welcoming manner. The apartment has been thoroughly renovated in a clean, modern style and it was exceedingly clean. We had everything we needed there. It is across from the big El Corte Ingles store on the north side of Plaza Sol. We were close to everything and walked nearly everywhere. There were amazing crowds on our street and in the plaza, but there were no sounds from them in the apartment. However, there was construction next door from 7am to 7pm. It was a bit annoying, but not a huge problem since we were out of the apartment most of the time and the noise wasn't terribly loud. It was actually quite exciting to see the renovations occurring everywhere in the area, including the building that we were in. We'd recommend the place and we would definitely stay there again.

Convenient Location

The apartment itself was well appointed and comfortable (although wine glasses would be a nice addition).The building and the building next door are going through major renovation so we did hear construction noise both Friday (we arrived in the afternoon) and Saturday (starting at 8am). We were out and about frequently so did not have to endure the construction noise. The outside and interior lobby look a little like a war zone but fortunately the apartment itself was quiet, the bed very comfortable and the water pressure and temperature very good. There is also a washing machine but no dryer. There is a lavenderia about an 8 minute walk where you can dry clothes. Keep in mind when you walk out of this apartment you are in a very busy shopping area with throngs of people. However conveniently located across the way is Corte Ingles for all food and/or shopping needs. The Sol Metro station is a 2 minute walk...also very convenient. This building is going to be really lovely once construction is completed but do not let this deter you. Management was helpful and we were met by JJ who didn't speak English but walked us through everything using Google translate. 😉

Location, Location, Location!

This is a fabulous location in the shopping district of Madrid. It is also within walking distance to Plaza Mayor, the Prado, and the Royal Palace. It is very accessible to the metro and light rail. There is a major grocery store and huge department store directly across from the flat’s building entrance. You can find everything you can possibly need or want at this store. Restaurants abound. You will not go hungry! Do not be dissuaded by the graffiti on the front entrance, it does not represent the interior of the building or the flat. The stairway is a bit dark, and the elevator is a bit small by American standards, but the building is clean and seemed quite safe. The flat itself is very modern and very clean. There was plenty of hot water and the water pressure was great. The induction cooktop took a moment to learn but shortly we were using it with no issues. The bed was firm and quite comfortable. Though this location is right smack dab in the middle of the shopping district of Sol and the streets are lively late into the night, the flat is an interior unit and is very quiet. We highly recommend this flat and would stay here again. P.S. Chocolateria San Gines…do it! You’ll thank us later!

Super central, super clean

I stayed from Sep 12-14 2016. Super great location, you can walk many places, metro station right outside the front door too. Apartment was super clean, bed comfortable, plenty of room for two people, a nice break from a hotel room! There is an elevator for to help with the transfer of your bags. The shopping mall across the street has a full size supermarket! You can pick up anything you need in that mall as well. I noticed travel books to refer to on the shelf which was a great resource. I would definitely recommend this for your stay.

Exactly what we expected

Modern apartment steps away from the Metro, the Market, and Puerta del Sol. We found the bed to be quite comfortable and the apartment to be very quite in spite of being just off of del Sol. The staff was friendly and responsive. If you intend to wash clothes during your stay, have the staff deliver it upon your arrival.

Fabulous location right in the HEART of Sol!!

Really enjoyed our stay in Madrid - location & apartment were HUGE part of that!!! Shopping (grocery too!) and entrance to Metro right out front door! Apartment was just as it appears in listing, and owner was available and helpful. He met us at apartment at check-in time which was convenient. We highly recommend a visit to Chocolatier San Gines for 'churros and hot chocolate'. It's open 24x7 just a short 5 minutes from apartment. Delicious & and the BEST in Madrid! We cannot wait for our next visit in Madrid! Would stay at same apartment!!

Modern/clean apartment - excellent location

This was a real gem, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and highly recommend - it is walking distance to nearly everything in old/scenic Madrid (we even walked to Reina Sofia, but taxi'ed back from Prado). On weekend evenings, the Puerta del Sol is a kaleidoscope of people and street performers - highly entertaining. If you want to take the Metro, all three Madrid lines go through Sol station, and it's easy to hail a cab there day/night. A few things we wish we had known up front: 1) the key pick-up is a few miles away, so we were lucky and accepted the airport "transfer" from the property manager (emailed a few days prior to our arrival). Airport taxi is a flat 30 Euro anyhow, so for an extra 10 we got a driver who knew where to stop for the keys (we never found a Madrid taxi driver who spoke any English, so getting one with instructions "pre-loaded" was a big plus), and didn't pay extra for the stop/wait at the management office. 2) The apt is just off Puerta del Sol, which means the taxi only can get you within about 3-4 blocks; make sure you can move your luggage this distance without assistance. 3) Ignore the street-level view/door; the apartment was on the 4th floor and quiet as a tomb, despite being so close to a bustling street scene. Elevator is smooth and holds 2 passengers + luggage easily 4) A few things took getting used to - the door has a multi-bolt "bank safe" design, and you need to turn the key 3+ full turns to fully unlock it (we were close to despair, until we figured this out). The WiFi name/password is printed on the box behind the sofa. We never figured how to work the induction range, but the microwave, washer, and dishwasher were simple enough to work, and we were grateful for all three; there was laundry/dishwasher detergent under the sink to use. The cable TV has a host of Spanish-language channels, but nothing in English. 5) If you need (literally) anything, walk across the street to the Corte Ingles, go down one flight, and there is a huge grocery store with good prices and tons of Spanish wines. We stocked the fridge cheaply. 6) You can Yelp restaurants in the area; we found a good one on Calle de Bordadores (El Neru). I wouldn't recommend it for four, but it is large/luxurious for a couple, and we would return in a heartbeat, if we are in Madrid again. My sole recommendation to the owner would be to leave 1-2 pages of English instructions for the appliances (stove/range, in particular).
