The place is beautiful, the hot tub was great. It's very close to train tracks but that didn’t dim the experience.

The kids loved the loft and the hot tub and it made it even better that our dogs were able to be with us as well. Thank you for a great stay!

excellent all around. location right on Lookout Mtn.
Easy in/out, easy communication with the owners through email, we loved that full sized shower wash and hair products were provided. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was nice and clean and all items we needed for cooking and cleaning were provided. The host does give you three laundry pods and three dishwashing pods, which was a great surprise. The little area was so cute with all the cabins and we enjoyed the train passing by. Lots of room for our pups to roam and great proximity to all the downtown action. My only problem was how bright it was in the cabin at night due to all the lights outside. There are blinds and a few windows have curtains but we were not prepared for the lights at night. LOL. But I would rather the area be lit for safety versus pitch black, so I get it. All things considered, we absolutely plan to stay here again. Great little getaway!

Thank you for the thoughtful review and for sharing those details. Glad the cabin was clean and well stocked, and that you enjoyed the little community, the train, the pups roaming, and the convenient location. We appreciate the note about the exterior lighting at night — we’ll pass that to our maintenance team to explore better blackout options or curtain adjustments. Please come back and visit us again anytime.
The property is what I would call a cabin park--a trailer park/campground that has been converted to a rental neighborhood. There is a lot to do within a short driving distance, and there are also some hiking trails near the property--one in particular offers nice views of the Tennessee River from a hillside above I-24.
My family and I really enjoyed the property. The cabin was clean and comfortable. I liked the precut firewood and my kids liked the playground. The only thing they could improve on is some signage at the road. I passed the entrance a time or two.

Thanks so much for the wonderful review Taylor. We are aware of the need for signage and it is in the works. Take care
I have already recommended this resort to friends who might head to Chattanooga!
PROS:
- charming tiny-house cabins, each with private hot tub
- wooded area offers privacy
- location is convenient to restaurants and super close to the major attractions in the area
- price is on point
- all soaps, detergents, and shampoo provided
- tiny houses are just so cute! Kids LOVE the loft area
CONS:
- wooded area means lots of mosquitos
- entrance to resort is super steep and a little freaky the first couple times
- no rugs inside our specific cabin (= messy floor and dirty socks)

Jodi,It was a pleasure hosting you and your family. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and already recommending Wauhatchie Woodlands to friends. We are so glad the kids loved the loft area and that you were able to enjoy Chattanooga. We thank you for the suggestions to improve! We hope you'll come and see us again soon!
Location is a short drive to anything you may want to do whether it is go into town or go on a hike. Cabins are close to one another but it does not feel that way when inside enjoying your space. Hot tubs are nice to have. Enjoyed walking around the area with my dog. Love that pets are welcome. Train is very close and they run nonstop but it did not bother us.

Thank you for the glowing review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our Timberroot Rustic Retreats property. We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back soon!
Cabin was great. Location was excellent. The only drawback was it’s located really close to a train track that was very active at night. With that said I will definitely stay there again.
Our tiny cabin was wonderful and exactly as advertised. Close to attractions and downtown Chattanooga the tiny cabin was the perfect location and atmosphere to enjoy our family vacation. Would absolutely book again the next time we are in Chattanooga.
We absolutely loved the cabin , it was very private. And very comfortable . It was so relaxing , we enjoyed having breakfast every morning on the front porch.Ourdaily excursions were short lived only to return to the tranquility of the cabin . Our only regret was not booking a longer stay .
The cabin had everything we needed . We are planning on returning in the fall and next summer . Also the staff was very friendly and responded promptly . This stay was trouble free.

About the host
Hosted by Timberroot Rustic Retreats
I have loved world travels my entire life; though as father of 8 kids, our movements have been more limited of late. I am an entrepreneur and business owner, lover of history, plants, nature, my faith, philosophy, and my family. We love Chattanooga for too many reasons to list, but also cherish variety and the beauty so many places in the world have to offer.
As hosts, you will find us responsive and accommodating and eager to share the treasures of our town and learn the treasures of your own. We know the trails, many waterfalls, parks, restaurants, and attractions of Chattanooga quite well and are willing to be a resource for our guests, offering an intimate knowledge of the area.
As a traveler, on business I tend to work, read and rest if I can, and prefer to travel with associates or family when I can. As a vacationer, I am eager to share and celebrate the diversity of creation and humanity with my family and to give them an explorers heart, a warmth for difference, and a bit of zeal for travel too. I prefer National Parks to cities, but cities carry their own attraction. I prefer mountains to beaches, forests to fields, and local to corporate or suburban.
Why they chose this property
This was an old trailer park. We saw great potential for it, as a gem of a natural setting so incredibly close to the city. We offer a natural escape right on Lookout by the beautiful city of Chattanooga with unique and modern rustic comfort for the perfect mountain side stay.
