Perfect Stay

Perfect home for a family vacation with our dog. The location was priceless along with the views. The home itself had everything we could need and the game room was a huge hit. Highly recommend and will come back.

Visited our daughter at WCU.

The home was very accommodating and an easy drive from WCU. We are so thankful to find a home that allows us to bring our dog. Our teenage son loved the game room too.

Weekend visit

We came to see our daughter who goes to WCU. She and her roommate stayed with us. It was good for them to get away from the dorm and eat some home Cooked meals. We hiked and took in the various sites. The house is perfect for our family.

WCU Graduation

The house served us well. It was clean and a good location. The only draw back was that it was 55 degrees when we checked in and it took awhile for house to warm up. I would suggest cleaning crew turn up heat in winter months for incoming guests.

Family gatherings

We live locally and rented Angel View for sons and wives to stay there instead of crowding our home. It worked out perfectly! It also allowed the daughter in laws to cook most meals there and that made me happy!

Our mountain happy place

This was my family's 4th summer visiting Angel View. This place never gets old, and I can feel my worries melt away as we approach the mountain house. The unobstructed view of the mountains is spectacular, and can be enjoyed from the front porch or main living room. I loved sitting on the porch, watching for hummingbirds, chipmunks, and other wildlife that visited. The house also has a fun game room with a pool table, Foosball, ping pong table, and board games. There is a fire pit with seating right outside the house, and we enjoyed several evenings sitting by the fire. Angel View gives you the feeling of being in the middle of nature, but is conveniently located to many attractions. We visited Asheville, Highlands, where we rode a mountain coaster, and Lake Glenville, where we rented a boat and went tubing. High Falls and Dry Falls are two of our favorite waterfalls, also within a half hour drive from the house. My family of six AND dog love this place!

Loved the house

I would buy this house if the roads were a little better and roads were wider. This home is a dream come true and the view from the rocking chair on the front porch looking at the mountains was sincerely supreme. The house was the first VACASA house we were that had everything we need from towels pots and pans down to diswashing and dishwaser liquid. This house even had a game road. It is truly amazing and a great bang for your buck. So amazing.

Hidden Gem of Cullowhee, NC

The house was immaculate and exactly as pictured on the website. It was cozy and comfortable, just as we had hoped when we booked it for the weekend! We enjoyed the rustic feel of the cabin. The game room was the biggest "win" for our family and friends, as we were able to enjoy quality time with our children (ages 18-22) without having to travel to town for entertainment. We especially loved the woodburning fireplace in the living room, where we were able to make s'mores while watching movies together. We were extremely pleased with the Wi-Fi service! Our younger family members were all able to use their smartphones, and we were excited to have access to streaming services for movies and phone apps so high up in the mountains. Thanks so much!! We will definitely be booking this "hidden gem of Cullowhee" again!!

Recent stay

Good: House was clean and nicely equipped. Lots of games. Plenty of room although 1 twin bed was in a large closet inside another bedroom with 1 queen and another twin bed. A little odd but worked out ok. Beautiful bathroons complete with linens and all toiletries. Close to wcu which was our main reason for staying. Also close to other destinations...public park, waterfalls, etc. Not so good: Sketchy drive to get to the house. Most people would need a utility vehicle to get there after turning off main road. I would recommend arriving during the daytime as roads and driveway are not lit. Mostly single lane drive shared with other properties and loaded with potholes dips and loose material from erosion. Dog poop throughout the yard.

Disappointed

The property is okay, dated but nice. The internet is weak and there is little to no phone service, and no land line in case of emergencies. We rented this property for the game room. Unfortunately the only heat source was not working, and was not fixed, even by the time we left 2 days later. When trying to enjoy it, we had to wear coats inside. Also there is no broom or vacuum on site to be able to clean at the end of each night. The parking is adequate, although extremely tricky. I do not think we would rent Angelview again.

Nikki's birthday getaway!

There are a few extraordinary perks here! The view was great. We loved the home providing games, including all ages. Entertainment for the entire family meant less back and forth. To me, I appreciate those thoughtful gestures. From having a supply of pantry staples to an overall clean home, minus the bedding has dog hair upstairs on bed and on bed, pillow downstairs We won't complain much. The home was a hotel with lots of activities, linen, toiletries, without the multitude of noise & elevator waits. Our family spoke highly of the details; cleaned kitchen, window sills, ceiling fans, floor, bedrooms, fully stocked with dishes, full kitchen, and the amazing view. The wraparound rocking chair porch was very comfy. The minor setback was not being able to enjoy the fire pit due to the wet wood. That maybe because of our stay, chosen dates. Did I mention the entire first floor garage was a game room? We all had fun! Thank you for your hospitality. We will return.

Wonderful Getaway, With a Few Exceptions

Beautiful home in the mountains, well stocked, lots of room for the whole family. Downside - road to home is pretty rough, take it slow. 2nd part of driveway is paved but crumbling near the house and is very steep. I dont see how they can get 3 cars parked as advertised. Front screen door does not close at all. Also, area rug just inside the front door blocks the door from opening and bunches up creating a fall hazard just inside doorway. Be aware that the front door does automatically lock, so that you don't accidentally get locked out without the code. House temp is set at 55 degrees so it takes quite a bit of time for the house to warm up. Wood burning fireplace does help considerably. However, we were only left one firestarting log, so on day 2 it was very difficult to get a fire started with the damp wood from the week's rain. Propane heater does not work in the gameroom, as many people have commented before. I would think they should have this fixed by now. We did contact Vacasa, as they are who the home is actually listed under. Not impressed at all with their response to issues. Overall, we would probably stay again but only if it was warmer. It is close to the WCU Campus and grocery store.

Private but also convient

The house is beautiful and the scenery, even in a warm winter, is stunning. I can hardly wait to come back in the fall. The beds are all very comfortable and there is a ton of thing to do just on the property, itself. From pool, table hockey and foosball to a wide variety of COMPLETE card, board games and puzzles. The property is a great place for little ones to explore. (Mine were ages 5 through 11) and they all had a blast. When it wasn't raining, we had opportunities to explore the area and build a fire or two in the fire pit. The gas grill is great and well equipped. Washer and dryer are provided and when the trip is complete, they provide hampers in every room for the towels and such. The kitchen is well equipped. We used the crockpot to make chili the night it was SUPPOSED to snow. Mother Nature did not cooperate, but it was a great experience, anyway. I especially liked how the house feels secluded, yet you can be to downtown in about 15 minutes, and there is everything there you could need, from privately owned grocery to Walmart and lots of cute independently owned restaurants and the big box restaurants, as well. There are also a lot of waterfalls nearby. We checked out a lot of those while we were staying at Angel House. This was also the first time I have rented a home on VRBO that I did not have to supply my own paper goods. The house is well stocked with tp and paper towels, lots of bath and hand towels and washcloths and extra blankets. Excellent!
