Great location right next to the Mickelson trail and about a mile from downtown Custer. All of the basic necessities are at this property and it was the perfect spot to explore the area.
The apartment we were in was a one bedroom which was side by side with the second apartment. It was clean with a very rustic interior. The bed was comfortable and the internet was good. Something I think could be better would be to update the bathroom towels. Also the grill on our side of the house didn’t seem to work. The oven heats 50 degrees higher than normal but it just meant turning down the heat that much. And the flooring has some type of coating over it that peels off in small pieces. The doors going outside did not have blinds or curtains on them which I was not comfortable with as I like the security of closed blinds at night. However the view outside the back of the house is beautiful. We had deer come on the property most nights and the owner left us deer corn to leave out to feed them. There is also a paved walking trail just off the property that many people seem to use. The owner was there and was helpful in suggesting things to see and do.

Very quite and a great view from the back porch. Would stay there again.
Great place to stay! Very comfortable and clean rustic little cabin with a great view in the back yard. Awesome location so close to Custer and neighborhood felt very safe. Bed was super comfy. Will be staying here again in the future:)
We had quick access to custer park. We were able to take in the scenery. We were also able to share the other half of the house with friend's. It was a great stay.

Great communication with info given before arrival & then good written instructions in the home. Very peaceful space & area around. Cozy inside. Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed my stay here. The owner has taken the reviews and updated the site. Fans and heaters were added to the site. I felt like the location was amazing, the cabin was right, and the accommodation was above par. Thank you for a great experience.
Such a cozy little place away from home. Beautiful backyard view every morning while having your coffee. Quiet setting. And got to see and feed deer on the property. Comfortable bed and pillows. And to top it off, the property manager was so wonderful to communicate with. Loved staying here!
We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful scenery right out the back door. Fun having the Mickelson trail right out back. We enjoyed seeing the deer. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing is no air conditioning, which was really only needed one of our days. House is rustic, but comfortable.

I loved the quiet, safe area. The kitchen was great, allowing us to prepare most of our meals. The bed was very comfortable. We walked on the nearby trail which was nice. The dining table chairs need to be upgraded and it would have been nice to have cable TV, but this is certainly not a big deal.
Excellent holiday! The property was as pictured. Clean and well stocked. Back porch view with the mountains, deer and turkeys was simply breathtaking.
The hosts, Jeanne and Dan, were beyond accommodating. Great people.
This property suited our needs perfectly. More than willing to book again!
We appreciated that we could walk across the back yard and access the Mickleson Trail. In the evening we sat in the backyard and watched turkeys and deer feed on the corn provided. The cabin was simple, quaint, clean just like the description. If you like extravagant accommodations, probably not for you- but we definitely enjoyed it!!
We enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect place for just the 2 of us. One more person would have been crowded. You do share laundry room with the room next to you. Thats what separates you from them in the house. The kitchen was
well furnished.
well furnished. The only
Nice place, price good, older, but clean, toilet/shower good, bed too soft for me but clean, air temperature was adjustable to comfort, refrigerator clean/nice, didn’t use stove, had a Keurig (brought our own 😊 too), Internet perfect, was a bit confusing as it was attached to a bigger place and we were confused which one was ours, floor had 2 small step downs that you had to be careful not to trip, close to restaurants, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park, Badlands - very convenient. Deer at night, clean forest smell.

Only one bed
This unit has only one bed! It advertises a couch that makes up into a bed, but that is not true. The living room couch is just a couch, not a bed!. Also the living room floor is very sticky around the fireplace. There is no protection on the floor, some sparks or ashes have melted some spots in the vinyl floor. I will not return!
