About the host
Hosted by Chad Pelton + Christie Bazemore
Both of us grew up spending our summers on lakes (Christie’s family has had a cabin right here on Lake Burton since the 1950s), and we wanted a home that made us feel like we did when we caught our first fish, when we made our first dive, and when we took our first boat ride. We wanted the smell of a grill, the coolness of the mountain air, the sound of a creek, and we wanted a lake tradition we could share with others.
Why they chose this property
From the get-go, we wanted to provide a lake cabin of old, a place with elements of the past, but obviously modern touches and comforts of the present as well. It’s not a fussy mansion of a house. Rather, it’s a 3-bedroom, 3-bath cottage in the woods, within walking distance to boat and jet-ski rentals, as well as fishing gear, groceries, and even the local bar is within a short walk up Hill Camp Lane.
What makes this property unique
300 steps from Lake Burton. Less than a mile from the public beach on Lake Burton. 6 miles from Downtown Clayton, GA. Access to National Forests, waterfalls, hikes, fishing, scenic drives, and all that north GA has to offer.
