About the host

The Bunker was built on the site of an army bunker, used for training soldiers for the Normandy landing during WWII. The dune on site used to have a little room inside with openings for shooting a target down the beach.
After the war the property was developed and sold for vacation houses.
My grandmother bought two lots and a house was built on one which burned to the ground in less that a year due to a faulty generator. Electricity had not been run yet.
My parents then constructed a house in 1953 and we spent every summer there as children.
In 2006 the Bunker was constructed as a permanent home and the old house and property were sold. The second floor was used as the main floor and the third floor was for my son, daughter and six grandchildren.
After my husband past away, I moved to Tallahassee and offered the house for rent.
Currently there are three generations of family members enjoying the beach house.
A grandmother, a daughter with three children, a son with three children and their spouses.
Alligator Point is a beautiful, relaxing get a way that we treasure for our selves and hope that you and your family will love as well.

Why they chose this property

There are beautiful views from every window where Mother Nature puts on a show 24 hours a day. We are high enough to see for miles but close enough to dolphin watch.
The star show from the top deck is a favorite night time activity that is enjoyed by every family member.

What makes this property unique

As a “gulf to bay” property, you get the benefit of the white sand, gulf beach as well as the protective bay, Alligator Harbor. Feel free to bring your boat and tie it up right in back of the house.
