I especially love that you came in a little nervous about the duplex and left saying it never felt cramped. That's exactly how a well-designed duplex should feel — your own space, friendly neighbors. And you found all the good stuff: comfy beds and pillows, great AC, easy beach access right across the road, the rinse hose, storage for beach gear, even the bypass road around the traffic! 😎 Thanks Ronald! So glad the west side of Shells worked well for the family get-together — easy walk to the beach, and the pool's always a win with little ones! On the supplies: that's a fair question, though it is one addressed in the listing and in all our communications. The "starter pack" is the standard across pretty much every beach home in the area — mgmt companies stock enough to get you through that first night so you're not making a midnight run, then folks pick up what they need for the week. It's not a cost thing; it's just how vacation homes work versus hotels. A hotel restocks daily because someone's in your room daily — nobody's coming into your beach house while you're living in it! And trying to stock a really big vacay home with enough for a whole crew for a whole week (or more) isn't scalable. We do, though, call it out in the listing and a few times in the pre-trip info specifically so nobody's surprised, especially if, perhaps like you, they are used to staying in a hotel, and not in a big beach home.
