About this property
Quiet & Peacefully located, 4/5 Bed Gite in two acres of owners ground with lake
If you like beautiful scenery, peace, quiet, and relaxing comfort, within easy reach of numerous places of interest, you will find your holiday haven right here. While away an hour or two with a fishing rod by our private lake. Relax and enjoy an hour or two within the grounds, reading, painting or whatever is your thing. The Gite stays cool in the summer, snug and warm in the winter, and this area of Brittany is renowned for excellent weather. This detached, and self-contained, holiday cottage, is very well equipped (especially the kitchen), to help ensure a relaxing stay and has it's own private entrance and parking area. The lounge/diner is well furnished, and has French Doors, which open to a garden patio including an inflatable 2 person jacuzzi. There is a three piece suite, making for total comfort whilst watching TV or DVD, or whilst reading from the extensive range of books upon the shelves. There is a dining table and chairs. The kitchen has fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, slow-cooker, washing machine, and abundant kitchen utensils and table-ware. we believe you won't want for anything in our kitchen. There are two double bedrooms, one on the ground floor, which has period furniture in the French style, with a comfortable double bed, and a window view over the lake. The ground floor shower-room and toilet, has a heated towel rail, and there is always an abundant supply of hot water. Upstairs, there is a second double bedroom, with a King size double and a single bed in the same room. This upper room does have cross beams, so if you are 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm) and over, then it is "Duck or Grouse". We aim to make your stay as pleasant an experience as possible. You will find the cottage clean and welcoming, and there will be milk, butter, orange juice and white wine in the fridge, with a loaf of bread, eggs, biscuits, jam, coffee, tea and a bottle of red wine on the side, all with our compliments. Should you wish us to "shop in" for you, simply email us a list, and it will be done, and you can settle the cost when you arrive. All bedding and towels are provided, and changed mid-term if you are staying for a fortnight. Beach towels or towels for sunbathing are available upon request. On the bookshelves in the cottage, there is information about local attractions, together with books and DVD's. The satellite TV is programmed for English channels reception, and has an inbuilt DVD player. You will be on holiday, but we know you might want to 'stay in touch' so WiFi Broadband is available. There is a barbecue for you to use on the adjacent patio, and a relaxing two person Inflatable Hot Tub. Finally we must advise that we have a NO PETS policy.

About the host
Hosted by Ian & Frances Woollard

We are a "young" retired couple and moved to France September 2015 from the Somerset area. We enjoy meeting new people and new challenges. We chose to make this area our home after visiting friends here over a period of time and found it peaceful and enjoyable.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because we fell in love with it at first site. The location is tranquil and peaceful yet within easy reach of all amenities with the towns of Loudeac about 5 miles away and Pontivy 8 miles away with a number of smaller towns and villages nearby. We could happily just sit and look at the lake and grounds with the birds and squirrels all day. We provide a welcome pack which includes a bottle of both red & white wines, water, fruit juice, milk, sugar tea, coffee, biscuits, eggs, salt & pepper, a loaf of bread, butter and jam. Our kitchen is supplied with as many utensils as we can think of including a set of kitchen knives. We also supply foil, cling film, paper towels, a selection of spices, bin & dustbin bags and toilet rolls. so you don't have to worry.
What makes this property unique
Unique is not how I would describe our place because very little "is unique". We do however have a peaceful setting to offer for those that want "to get away from it all". If you are inclined you are welcome to fish our lake which has Roach, Rudd, Bream & Carp. You may just want to sit in the sun and read, do photography, paint or enjoy a host of other pastimes. Whatever your choice you can be sure of a peaceful time (local farmers permitting). The gite is suitable for the partially disabled (not wheelchair bound) as it has both a downstairs bedroom and shower room/toilet.
