Amazing location. Comfortable beds. Host supplied lots of the "basics" and was quick to respond to questions. Loved having our dog with us on vacation!
Had an awesome stay at this property. Was exactly as described and absolutely beautiful. Very easy to find and close to the heart of harbor town. Will definitely be back!!
This was our 3rd stay at this property. We love the views and the proximity to Harbour Town. But best of all are the deer that come to visit every day. :)
Great location, walkable to Harbour Town, and amazing view. Great for adults and couple of kids. Highly recommended, especially if you come by boat and get a slip in the yacht basin.
We love staying at this house, the views, the animals, biking to the beach, kayaking with dolphins and manatees...I think this is our 13th stay in this house and it's still magical for us.

Thank you for vacationing with us again on Deer Island. So glad you enjoyed HHI and your accommodations! Look forward to your return vacations! Meredith
Couldn't be happier with our fun and unique place in deer island. The views were unbelievable and we had so much fun feeding the deer. Wish we could've stayed for longer. The only downside was the place would get very hot in the afternoon sun, so you'd need to put down the blinds, which obviously affected the view. And the decor, carpet, and overall place is a little dated. All minor things compared to how happy we were with the place! We hope to be back soon.
My husband, 2 large dogs and I stayed here last summer and enjoyed ourselves immensely so decided to stay again this year! Absolute perfect location for walking around Harbour Town, so close to tons of shops and restaurants. The place has all the amenities you need, a stocked kitchen, beach gear, etc. The living room area still got a bit hot during the heat of the day with the sun streaming in, but the view is so amazing you don’t want to put the blinds down! We plan to stay here every year when we come back to the island. 10/10 recommend!
Not many places on HHI that allow two big dogs but this place was able to accommodate us & it was amazing! It was quaint and charming & the location is unbeatable! Very quiet and the view is just stunning. Previous reviews were accurate that it gets very hot inside on a sunny day, but with the blinds closed it wasn’t too bad. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, but still just a short walk to all the hustle and bustle of Harbour Town!

So glad you enjoyed HHI and your accommodations! Join us again soon! Meredith
Best view for sunsets. The property is unique. It's a bit dated but clean and super cozy. If you want to relax and eat in, the kitchen has everything you need and if you want to go out the property is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. We enjoyed staying on the deck in the evenings and feeding the resident deer. We had a great stay and would stay again.
It was absolutely beautiful! Loved the cozy feel! We had an amazing time! We also had deer come visit. Early morning a little fawn had the zoomies…cutest thing ever!! Overall very clean, peaceful and great communication!!

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Please join us again in the near future! Meredith Allain, Property Manager/BIC
Beautifully decorated sea loft with a front row seat to amazing views of the marsh. The king tide this week made it even more gorgeous with the sun setting over the flooded marsh. We enjoyed watching all of the herons and egrets and especially feeding carrots to the deer. It's nice to be so close to Harbourtown but away from the crowds. We will definitely be back next year!

So glad you found our gem on Deer Island and look forward to hosting your return visits! Meredith
We've rented this house 10 times. We love so much about it. I wish we could afford to stay longer than we did this last time, but the rate has gone up over the years. The view and location are hard to beat. We've tried another sea loft but came back to this one. Meredith is great and very helpful.
Deer Island is quiet. This is the kind of place you can truly relax and get lost in the scenery from your 360 degree picture windows with a decent pair of binoculars: the marshland, the birds, the deer, the people playing on the Sound. I Even adore the little crabs that hide in the cracks of the board walk as you come and go. Two minutes walk to Harbor Town, if you need to socialize or look at yachts or eat a fancy meal or get some ice cream. It’s Covid time, so we opted to visit Barnacle Bills for fresh seafood daily (get the crab cakes!) and cooked meals daily in the bungalow, the kitchen is well stocked. This place is fantastical! Will return.
Perfect location. Wonderful view. Excellent amenities for my pets. Quaint cottage. While dated and could use a deep clean, exceptional opportunity just the same! Everything I needed was available, from furniture on the patio, to towels, to fan, to pet gate, to washer and dryer. Comfortable beds. Be aware that it's a heat of the day the air conditioning even with the blinds down cannot keep up with the heat due to the single pane windows.... But oh my goodness what a gorgeous gorgeous view! Both morning and evening. Couldn't have asked for better on the calibogue bay! Love how the community of Deer Island is set back, and wooded. And the deer visitors were a pleasant surprise. The boardwalk and the lighting at night time was perfect. Thank you so much and we will be excited to come back!
The location is wonderful: a view of the bay and marshland outside and a walkable distance to Harbor town. But we arrived in the afternoon and with the sun blazing in through the wall of windows, it was HOT. We had to immediately close all blinds and turn the little air conditioner unit as low as it could go. It didn’t cool down until late that night, even with every fan going. We managed to keep it relatively comfortable by keeping the blinds closed for the vast majority of the day and keeping the air conditioner set to 62. Of course, having the blinds closed made us miss out on the view. The house itself was charming, but felt more like a cabin. It could definitely use some updating. We would consider staying here again in cooler months, but it doesn’t work in the summer.

We stayed in this unit on the last week of summer 2025.I don’t generally write reviews, most of you probably don’t for the same reasons. I will though, if I am particularly impressed with the subject.Pros • The view. If you want nature, it’s as raw as you’ll find it on HHI. No pythons eating alligators or vice versa, but a good slice of the local biosphere is represented. • The appliances, new and in good condition.Cons • Unit readiness. We had requested, were granted and paid an additional fee for an early arrival. When we arrived just before our allotted time for our self check-in, the unit had not been cleaned and prepped. • Furnishings. If any of the furniture was purchased new or purchased at all, I’ll eat your hat. When I was a college student, the furnishings looked just like mine. • HVAC may have been adequate if 40% of the blinds on the western-exposed floor-to-ceiling windows were not FUBAR. In the afternoon, with a 74 setpoint, the main room was at 84. • Inoperable lighting and outlets. Most worked, but it was hit-or-miss. • Finishes. The millwork was more reminiscent of a fish shack with rough lumber (painted, though) on doorjambs and other openings. We have stayed on Deer Island previously and love it. If I were staying at an eco-lodge in Costa Rica, I wouldn’t be writing this review. The unit is simply not ready for commercial rental.
Unique place with amazing views! Sleep in the downstairs bed if you love nature!
This was one of the most unique properties I've ever booked. They call them "tree houses" or "sea lofts" and they have windows all the way around. It had an amazing deck with views of the marsh. The area gets extreme high and low tides, which fascinated all of us. There are friendly deer who beg for carrots. It's super cute. Have some ready before you arrive!!
The bedrooms were comfy but I choose to stay downstairs on the little twin bed. I felt like I was right IN the wetlands! The night sky was relaxing and although I didn't see any wildlife at night, an Eastern Whippoorwill sang me to sleep every night.
The property is pet friendly, so some of the sofa coverings and seats are little older looking, but there was absolutely no dog hair or dog smell. I took a chance booking with a pet friendly place and was surprised to see carpeting throughout, but, again, no pet smells.
The AC units kept up well and were quiet for such a small place.
The whole resort, or whatever you call golf and tennis communities, was well kept up and beautiful. The staff at the cafe we walked to daily was friendly and the food was good. None of the staff seemed cranky and worn down, so someone is managing that place very well.
When you drive in, you'll think you made the wrong choice if you were expecting a quiet get away as the Sea Pines property is very busy, but once you drive over the little bridge to Deer Island, everything changes. It's peaceful, quiet and relaxing.
I will definitely be back!!
