We truly enjoyed our stay, the views are incredible. The pictures we took will not do justice for the area. Fantastic location, 20min from Redwoods, on the beach perfect vacation spot to explore and recharge.
The best thing about this property for us was the location. It’s on a short cliff above the water where we observed harbor seals resting on the rocks. And as our main reason for being in that area was to visit the redwoods it made the drive to them very short. The house itself is a bit dated but the beds were comfortable and the kitchen more than adequate with the added benefit of a washer and dryer. I was able to view the seal from a comfortable recliner in the living room with the help of binoculars. We would definitely stay again.
If you are looking for a house with easy access to the beach and marine wildlife, this is the place for you! The house had some very dated elements but the generous amount of windows had spectacular views of the lighthouse and “Sea Lion Rock” (as my daughter named it). A short walk to the beach at low tide brings you to a lovely tide pool, where we had no trouble spotting starfish, crabs, urchins, and anemones. Crescent City is maybe not as flashy as some other California cities, but the locals are SO friendly. It was just the vibe we were looking for and the whole family had a great time!
Fantastic location, shabby house. If all you care about is a spot at the beach, this is the place for you. However, for over 500 a night --in Crescent City!-- this house was simply not in good condition. The mildewy smell was awful and even more overwhelming was the febreze plug in to cover up the mildewy smell. These nice folks bought themselves a retirement home and did absolutely nothing to spruce it up before renting it out to others. The view and the location were definitely wonderful. But the house was lacking.

Karen,
Thank you for your kind review. We take pride of our home and any suggestions from our guests seriously. We have continue to do our best to upkeep our home in its natural state.
The plug in fragrant is complimentary, guests have a choice to unplug it.
The home is surrounded by glass windows and if no air circulates humidity will accumulate. Best to do is crack open the windows during your stay.
Sincerely,
Ed and Lee
We had a lovely stay. The home has amazing beach access and views which are the clear stars of the show!! The house has everything you need, and the hosts were great to work with.
This is a very clean and comfortable house, with a location that can’t be beat. The walk to the beach was as advertised. The furnishings and carpet could use a facelift but great overall because of the location, cleanliness and price.
The views were amazing. Listening to the waves crash with a cup of coffee in the morning was perfection. It was a cold week and the house stayed nice and warm. Great stay!
The beach view was AMAZING, and the location in Crescent City was so convenient for exploring the Redwoods! We loved being able to hike in the forest in the mornings and enjoy the majestic ocean and rocky beaches in the evenings. We had quite a few foggy days, but when the sun broke through, it was radiant. We also loved keeping the windows cracked and the back sliding doors open to enjoy the breeze and fresh sea air.The house has lots of character, with little hidden compartments and cupboards. As others have mentioned, it’s a bit dated, but the brand-new gray leather recliner sectional was clean and comfy. The room with twin beds is very tiny, but it worked just fine for our younger boys. Our kids also enjoyed the beach toys and games. We did encounter several spiders who seemed to like the house, too! (My husband got pretty good at eliminating them. )The kitchen was well equipped with useful pots and pans, cooking spray, aluminum foil, and other essentials. We were especially thankful for the dryer after our outdoor adventures! (Tip: There are TWO dryers—the washer/dryer set is behind another door past the kitchen, which we didn’t notice at first.)Ed and Lee were wonderful hosts! An issue came up our first night, and they responded quickly and worked with us to get it resolved so we could enjoy the rest of our stay.Overall, we loved the location, the views, and the opportunity to enjoy both the Redwoods and the ocean during our stay!
We had a great stay. Kitchen is well stocked and check in easy. The biggest plus is the ocean view. Enjoyed sunset every evening right from the living room or patio. The house is in need of updating.
We were incredibly pleased when we arrived and the property was exactly as advertised! The house was clean, the location was quiet and the beds were very comfortable! We will absolutely look to book here again if we are in the area in the future!
Incredible view and great location convenient to everything in Crescent City and the Redwood coast. Comfortable beds, living area and patio. Will definitely stay here again!
We loved the view of the ocean!! The beds were comfortable, kitchen was clean and had everything needed. Cozy living room. We enjoyed our time there totally!
