Just what we expected as repeat visitors. Great for our family of 12. So close to Blue Lake Challenge event that we came for - actually ideal location for so many things. Hope we get to come back when it’s warmer and enjoy Lake Okareka next time.

Beautiful, small quiet settlement close to Rotorua and the Redwoods. Has everything you need and is nice and cozy with a fireplace. Good for a quiet time away for a bit of digital detox.

Layout was perfect for our group of teenage boys and their needs. Great flow, comfy beds, great location, great parking and excellent communication with owner who was very accomodating. Will be back and highly recommend for large groups.

The property was rustic as described by the host but suited our needs well. Plenty of beds for our large group. Great location. Could do with some mirrors in the bedrooms, as it was difficult for our group of 8 to do hair/makeup for the wedding we were attending with just the 2 mirrors in the bathrooms.

Great weekend getaway

We loved all the different seating areas both inside and outside. The bbq was great. Location was great being so close to the lake. The bach had everything we needed for a family gathering at a really reasonable price.

Top Location

Had a great stay. We had all we needed there and a paradise at the door step. Easy lake access, nearby mountain biking and even some kayaks we could use. The place is big enough to hold a couple families and have a great time hanging out out together.

Spacious, comfortable, and kind caring hostess

The chalet was so charming and unique, my friends and I enjoyed our stay greatly! The home was spacious and comfortable, and Anne was a lovely hostess with great recommendations on what to do in the Rotorua area. We would happily stay again :)

Family get away

We had a large group stay. It was awesome with the different levels for the kids and teens and adults. Host was amazing, kind and so accommodating of our needs. Great being close to the lake.

Warm and welcoming hosts; unique, quaint property; lots of beds to sleep people; a beautiful lake to enjoy; close to Rotorua; a reasonable price - this really fit the bill for our family, attending a summer wedding. We really appreciated this rustic and affordable home way from home.
