Great Place to Unwind!
This house was perfect for our Girls Weekend at Hickory Point. We enjoyed the beautiful porches, the deck, the dock and the great kitchen. What a wonderful way to unplug, unwind and forget the rest of the world! We didn't watch or listen to news the whole time. One gal commented that the whole world could be burning down behind us and we wouldn't even know it!! Great fun was had.
The house and property were absolutely beautiful - exactly the way it was portrayed online. I like to make breakfast on our family trips and the kitchen was fully equpped imo. The only thing missing was drinking water but luckliy we brought a case of bottled water. The house is in remote location in a quiet neighborhood. It's a perfect getaway from city life. We were 5 mintues from the Aurora Ferry. We took advantage of that and got to see Bath, Bellhaven and Washington across the Pamlico River. We visited the Fossil Museum and came home with a few shark teeth that we dug up from the lot. I recommend cooling down at the Blue Crab Boutique after digging in the hot sun. The ice cream there is delicious and it is also a gift shop with an adorable reading nook. The sweet woman who owns it did an amazing job removating the building. We got some seafood at Frank and Shirleys and took it back to the house to eat and watch TV. It was the best sleep I've had at a VRBO location. The pier was my kids' favorite part about the property.
