It was a pleasure to have you! I'm glad you enjoyed the house and your stay in Toronto. My crew was most appreciative of how you returned the house. You would be most welcome to come again.
Terrific location to allow easy access to all of Toronto’s sights. Most sites were within a 15 to 25 minute walk. Great restaurants nearby. Lovely home which very comfortably accommodated 5 adults. We had a great time and loved the neighborhood.

Great location, very comfortable house. Nicely furnished. I highly recommend it
A lovely house on a quiet street. Close to all attractions and a tram at the end of the street if you don’t feel like walking. The house was spotless and had everything that we needed. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great location
Great cottage, very well located in a quiet street, but at walking distances from several touristic sites. Plenty of room for a family. The view on the CN tower from the deck was a trill for the kids. Very clean and well equiped. It is nice to have a place to park the car.

Charming home in great location
My family of five spent four days at Suzanne's home. It was the perfect size for us to have space to spread out but to still spend time together in the common areas. The location was perfect for walking downtown, my morning run and to mass transit. The house was well-equipped, clean and delightful to stay at. Highly recommend.

Lovely house in a great location
Our family was very happy with our stay in Suzanne's comfortable and charming house. Our two girls loved sleeping in the loft upstairs, with their view of the CN tower. The other bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen very pleasant, and everything very thoughtfully furnished. Being half a block from a playground/park was excellent, and as others note it's very quiet even though it's a couple blocks from a bustling street and walkable to many restaurants, markets, attractions, etc.

great location and very nice property
The house couldn't be in a more perfect location for everything: Kensington Market, Chinatown, Queen St., grocery, lcbo, etc. etc. Loved walking or taking streetcar everywhere! Two minute walk to Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) which was wonderful on a rainy day. Comfortably accommodated 5 ppl using all 3 bedrooms. Thank you for everything, Suzanne!

Tim and Caroline, we walked into the house and appreciated how you took care to return it as given. If you should come this way again for a family gathering, you would be welcome and recommended elsewhere. Such undertakings are difficult to plan, organize and clean. My initial apprehensions were groundless Thank you, please travel well. Suzanne

Spacious comfortable house in great location
Close to everything you need, supermarket, shops, restaurants and attractions all within walking distance. The house is large, spacious and comfortable it had everything you need and more. The car parking space is a big bonus, we hired a car to drive to Niagra.. which is amazing! We went to a baseball game which was great. Would certainly recommend this home, Suzanne was helpful from beginning to end, a very understanding accommodating host.

Suzanne's house is well located right in the entertainment district of Toronto. We were able to walk everywhere: to cn tower, trendy queen street shops and bars. The house was tastefully decorated, fully equipped for meals and the large entertainment area was an added plus. We loved it!! Thanks Suzanne!!

Fantastic Location
A little quirky but very cute and very homey. The location is fantastic. The immediate street is quiet and residential but you are short blocks from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown and the arts and theater districts. The location is really perfect and the house has plenty of room and alll the amenities. It was perfect for our family of 4 ( including to large teenage boys), and there was plenty of room to have the grandparents over for dinner and visiting. All in all a great Toronto experience.

Excellent Location, Plenty of Space, Very clean
Our family of 5 enjoyed Suzanne's comfy house near downtown Toronto. The house was very clean and met our needs. For the price the location is outstanding, very quiet neighborhood, short walk to entertainment district, downtown, Chinatown, and other nice neighborhoods. We are walkers and we were able to see a lot of Toronto from this house. Wifi worked perfectly, coffee maker was good, beds and furniture were basic but satisfactory. all we needed to rest and relax after long days of touring an awesome city!

We absolutely enjoyed the stay in this lovely house in the heart of Toronto. The house has a wonderful homely atmosphere and is fully equipped with everything one needs. It is clean and very spacious. Although situated downtown the environment is very quiet and we were able to walk everywhere. The owner is very friendly and very helpful and entirely uncomplicated. We are looking forward to staying there again during our next visit. Thanks so much!

Great property, super location, family friendly
We have used Home Away for years renting property all over the world. This property has become one of our favorite. We plan a family weekend away each year to get all of our adult children together and keep our family close. This property easily accommodated the 6 of us. Nice location easy to walk to all of the Toronto downtown venues. We came on the July 1 holiday and the home was quiet and comfortable. The property is well kept, clean and very inviting. Highly recommend this place if going to Toronto. Suzanne has done a nice job

Much bigger in person!
This is an amazing townhome! We brought a group of 7 and there was plenty of enough space between the 3 bedrooms and loft. Everything was as advertised on the site, but it really is bigger/more spacious in person. Suzanne was very prompt with communication, things were spotless upon arrival, and the home is situated in a quieter residential area, MINUTES away from activities. Very impressed and pleased with our stay here! :)

Enjoyed our stay!
The house was great and perfect for us. Our only problem was that we arrived at 15.00 expecting to get settled in. Suzanne was there and they were in the middle of cleaning and we were told that we would have to wait until 17.00. This was very annoying and we had to change our plans for that day!

Regretfully the cleaning crew was delayed. We pitched in and rather than lower our exacting standards requested you make yourself comfortable and provided directions for lunch and shopping. Thank you for letting us know you enjoyed your stay.
Wow, couldn't fault the location of this place. Even if you didn't want to go into town you have so much on your doorstep - in fact a week isn't long enough to see everything local. You can discover things on foot or jump the tram or bus into the city. Loved it, wish I could have stayed longer. You know you have settled into a place when you know all the shortcuts home on foot!! Suzanne was great, she's just a call or email away if you have questions and always comes back to you. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great home in great location
6 of us stayed in this lovely, clean, comfortable home. For us it's all about location, and Suzanne's home didn't fail. Bang in the heart of the hustle bustle, but in a quiet leafy street where you can sit on the deck watching squirrels and hearing bird song. We walked everywhere even though we had a car. The home was so well equipped, with lovely products in the bathrooms, cleaning products etc. All these little things make a difference. Toronto is a fascinating city and we would certainly go back and use this property again.

Great location, comfortable digs!!
A group of us old friends made the decision to meet in Toronto for a lovely spring weekend. We were coming from disparate parts of the globe-- from Michigan to Denmark and I knew we'd want a place where we could just spread out, make a good meal, and chat to catch up with each other. But we also wanted to be able to walk around town and enjoy the amenities Toronto had to offer. This location was great, the house was very clean, and the amenities were wonderful. Suzanne met two of us to introduce us to the house and show us around, which was a perfect. The home is very comfortable and well appointed and I am putting this on my go-to place to stay in Toronto. Thanks for a great place to stay, and hopefully I will be back with my family someday soon!

The property was very clean and organized. Had everything we needed.
We had a group of 5 people stay at the property. It accommodated all of us with ease. Plenty of room, clean, organized and had everything we needed. The balconies of the property were perfect to sit and enjoy food and a drink while looking at the sky scrapers of the city. The property was within walkin distance of downtown Toronto which made our trip even better. The host was a pleasure to work with and rent from and I would highly recommend renting this property from her if you are Toronto. The one and only complaint I can think of is the central air did not cool off the upstairs as much as I would of liked. That being said I am knit picking and could be user error. I highly recommend!
We stayed here through the first part of the winter and enjoyed it immensely. The landlady is tremendously nice and helpful!Location: Sullivan St. is one of the liveliest parts of town! We were here for 2.5 months and only drove our car a handful of times--it was so easy to walk, call an Uber, catch a streetcar, or go a few blocks to the subway or train station. There are many, many incredible restaurants and cafes at the doorstep. In spite of all this, the rental was very quiet at night. We are not early risers, and we had no problem in the mornings either. There was no traffic noise during the day, though we could hear some construction noise from other houses on Sullivan St. Equipment: The house is quite well-equipped, with a very roomy kitchen (and a brand-new induction stove!), two dining areas, three bedrooms plus a loft sleeping area for extra guests. The mattresses were great. The living room has a smart TV and an electric fireplace that we enjoyed often. As a writer, I appreciated the many flat surfaces to put my laptop: the two dining tables, the small desk in the kitchen, the console table in the living room, and the desk in the front bedroom upstairs. The 2.5 baths were great--no one ever had to wait. Water pressure and temp were just right. The ensuite bathroom is small but quite functional. The hall bathroom is larger and has good storage. We stayed here 2.5 months and felt very much at home. Even our dog was sad to leave! We would love to return.

AWFUL....so many negatives (incl pests living in walls) No money has been spent on this property.
This was the worst Home Away rental we have ever stayed at...
The only positive was the location, which was a great spot downtown and everything was within walking distance. Upon arrival we noticed that the 2nd floor was very warm (August in Toronto) there was 2 fans per room so we worried about how well the A/C was working. The extra bed was a mattress on the floor of the loft space that was so hot, no one could sleep there. The owners knew we would be having a relative come and stay for 2 days but did not mention that it was a sauna in the loft area. We were not warned and therefore no one could stay. We arrived Saturday and by late that night we realized the A/C was not working at all. The owner responded to our calls, complained to me that she just spent money fixing it a few weeks previously - Imagine not apologizing and then complaining to your guest (who paid to fly across the country and stay at your home) about the money they have spent??!! She clearly would not pay the higher rates over the weekend to fix it. We did not have A/C until Tuesday. And then the owner called me to ask if I was "around" to let in the repair person!! The heat was quite unbearable. The other negatives include; CRITTERS living in the walls - We think they were raccoons that would scratch and screech (we have videos and sound), mold in the upstairs bathroom, stains and cobwebs on ceiling, cracked window in dining room and cracked wooden furniture on the patio full of weeds, mold/wet smell throughout the house, dirty/stained carpets and dirty overall, living room furniture so cheap/old that the cushions slide off when you sat on them.
We ended up leaving and getting other accommodations 1/2 way through our week so that we could enjoy our holiday and not have to deal with the owner and the shabby accommodations. Upon returning home we messaged the owner about these problems but she made excuses and said there was no pests and that we would not be compensated.
I have videos and photos of all of these awful points I have mentioned - hopefully I can upload them to this site. This is clearly an owner who does not care about her customers and is only squeezing every last penny out of this rental.

Suzanne, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We take pride in offering a well equipped and clean home for guests. The large "weed" on the deck is a heritage rosebush, pruned every autumn. The AC as many others in Toronto was not working at optimum due to the heat wave and excessive humidity which in turn placed high demand on professionals including the one who located the problem and repaired asap after he could obtain the part. It was not a question of higher rates but availability. We supplemented fans asap, which work well with windows open in the room, and supervised the repair. As traffic in GTA is challenging, I asked if you would be on site to receive the repair person if he reached before us. As to other issues as raccoons, and yes Toronto is famous for raccoons, there was no evidence of raccoon activity or other "visitors" on the deck or inside upon my subsequent visits or prior to your arrival. The house is not detached, it could be the people next door. It is noted in the listing and otherwise that the extra bed is an air mattress. You did not notify me that you wished to leave until after your scheduled departure date hence I declined compensation. Travel well and thank you for visiting us in Toronto.
About the host
Hosted by Suzanne DasGupta
Raised my 4 kids, a dog and cat in this home. It's got some of my happiest memories including looking at the CN Tower and stars under the skylight in the loft. We've kept the home and improved it because we plan to move back. While I'm a Vancouver transplant, I've lived in India and travelled quite a bit. When I come back to Toronto, this house grounds me as it's simply the best of city life: it's a quiet, neighborly street in the heart of everything I love about Toronto.
Why they chose this property
Grange Park is my favourite park in the city. It's got everything you need and more you didn't know you wanted. Henry Moore's sculpture is a well worn, well loved icon in our family. There's a small dog park for your furry friends. You're surrounded by stunning architecture views: AGO's Frank Gehry staircase (he grew up around the corner), the CN Tower and the iconic OCAD. Margaret Atwood lived down the street.
You can walk everywhere from this home. Buy groceries in Chinatown, Kensington Market or even St Lawrence Market (or the big box stores) if you aren't eating at the many delicious delights nearby. Decide at the last minute to attend a play, a movie premiere, the ballet/opera. Finish a long day and decide to attend a favourite sports event or concert and make it there on time. Support live music in some of the best of Toronto's small venues. Walk to work - whether that's at a University, in the Hospital Corridor, the Financial District or many of the tech companies that have central Canadian headquarters. You can enjoy the buzz of the city or the quiet of a tree-lined street with coffee on one of your two sunny decks.
What makes this property unique
What makes this home unique?
1) It's quiet street despite being so central.
2) Location - you can walk to the best of downtown Toronto and you can move across the city easily and efficiently (even with construction).
3) The Neighbourhood - the street has been home to writers (eg Margaret Atwood), artists and Nobel prize winning scientists.
