WE ARE BOAT ACESS ONLY.
MINIMUM STAY THREE NIGHTS
We would love to invite you to our 5th generational farm. We have 640 hectares for you to explore. (Farming Romney sheep). Farmer Trev milks the cow every morning, and we are pretty much self- sufficient. Kelly loves to show people around and talk about the Foote family history and is pretty proud of her flower and vegetable garden. (The house has its own sectioned off garden).
Although we are boat access, it is only 45 minutes by boat to Havelock.( unless you decide to kayak out!)
We also live on the farm and own our own boat.
We have limited spark cell phone coverage.
The house is alternative power, cooking facilities are gas, and a newly installed solar power system.
The available house overlooks the sea, it's hard to do your dishes while gazing out the kitchen window. There is a short walk up a path from the wharf to the house, but don't worry you won't have to carry your luggage. We will be there to meet you and transport your luggage up the hill.
Do you love bird spotting? you won't be disappointed!
Te Rawa lodge (bar and restaurant) is an easy ten-minute walk away. There are kayaks available for you to paddle over for your morning coffee.
Do some dolphin spotting from the wharf, we have even had the occasional orca stop by. Swimming and fishing is permitted off the wharf, (children must be supervised).
Feel free to join with activities on the farm, or just relax and keep to yourself, the choice is yours. You could join Kelly on a walk to the top of the hill, (that will get your heart pumping) or help Trev milk the cows. We also run our own pest control programme, to eradicate possums, rats, stoats etc... to protect our beautiful native environment.
Our farm walk does a complete circuit around the property, which is a large peninsular. (SOME PARTS CLOSED DUE TO RECENT FLOODING).
you can go for a short walk to check out the glow worms.
We have unlimited internet available. (90% reliable)
Access to the most beautiful scenery in the Pelorus, with views stretching from the back of Blenheim to the North Island. It takes a certain degree of fitness to climb the hills, but the view is worth it.
If you don't have your own boat the Pelorus mailboat runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in summer (pre booking recommended) or you can book a water taxi out to us.
The water taxis leave from Havelock and can be found on the internet. (Please contact us if you have any questions regarding water taxis). Or catch the float plane from Wellington straight to our bay!
Special conditions:
Smoking allowed outside only.
No parties
No dogs under any circumstances.
We have a low usage solar powered system, please don't sneak out high usage appliances, as it cannot handle the draw.
