About this property

Private, Sunny Waiheke Retreat With A Hot Spa

Beautiful three bedroom two-storey house located in Ostend. Each room has comfortable queen beds as well as a mezzanine floor with a fold out couch. On chilly nights or after a cooling dip in the sea, a roaring indoor fire (or heatpump) or outdoor spa will keep you toasty. Many attractions nearby (within 5min drive) including Goldie Vineyard, Palm Beach, Ostend shops and markets, Supermarket, Casita Miro Restaurant etc. Fully equipped laundry and kitchen facilities. Lounge includes selection of DVD's, home theatre, Smart TV, games and puzzles. WIFI is included in rental. Outdoor area includes a swing for the kids, BBQ, decking and sun chairs and plenty of grass to run around. There's a couple of bodyboards available as well as tennis rackets.

Please note, the sleepout shown in the photos is currently unavailable for hire. Minimum two night bookings, 3 nights during long weekends.

A cleaning fee of $100 will be applied at the time of booking.

Smoking is allowed outside only. Pets maybe allowed with prior approval. Note that the property is not fully fenced.

Extras: Linen (Optional, NZ$35.00 per bed set up)

We have a low pressure shower - like many places on Waiheke as we're all on tank water. It works fine, but is not high pressured like you may have at home.

Our driveway is short, but like many driveways on the Island is steep. Its best suited for a 4WD but 2WD cars also make it up too.

We have installed two external security cameras on the property. Recordings won't be viewed unless there's a need to eg damage to property, party, complaint from neighbours.

We had a lovely stay on waiheke! We loved listening to all of the birds flitting around the garden! Communication with Sue was very welcoming. The house had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. We mostly had lunch out and dinner at the house and made good use of the bbq.

Myself and my 4 friends had a lovely stay at the property. Close to wineries, beach and a really nice supermarket. Host was very accommodating and helpful with any questions we had. I would def stay again and recommend. Also the spa pool was fab!

Was a wonderful, warm cosy stay. The wood fire/heatpump/spa kept us cosy as! We didn't need the electric blankets on the bed, but good to know they were there if we needed them! The home was a quick easy walk to supermarket. Bus service just a small walk away. We are already looking at booking our next trip across the water. Perfect location, perfect home.

Girls weekend away

Me and my best friend rented Sue’s cottage for 4 nights and it was divine! We were welcomed with a bottle of bubbles and we really enjoyed relaxing in the evenings in the hot tub. We were able to walk from the property to public transport spots with ease and enjoyed the fact that the super market was so close. Would love to stay again in the future! Thanks again!

Peaceful and green

The bach was in a lovely, peaceful spot, surrounded by greenery. The size and space and provisions were perfect and communication was lovely. The place was more run down than is expected and quite cob-webby and dusty. The shower pressure was extremely weak. But, comfy beds and very relaxing and pretty. Thank you.

The Perfect Stay

The experience from the very start was smooth sailing. Sue, the contact person for the property was very informative and helpful and we arrived at the place without any hassles. The house was just as it was described online. There were 3 of us, friends just wanting to get away from the Auckland City life for an extra long weekend. The place was perfect and we each had our own rooms. Whatever you could think of, it was available at the house (we brought our own bedsheets and towels as per our agreement). The outdoor spa pool was the jewel amongst everything and was the perfect relaxation at the end of the day especially after our Zipline experience in Onetangi. The property is pretty private and the neighbours are nice. I hadn’t realised how close the place was to the main shops and we got to experience the Ostend Market on the Sat - WOW amazing items for sale and delicious baked goodies for that Saturday morning munch. There’s also a lovely French cafe further down the road. The only regret was that we should’ve stayed another night.. but we’ll be back again! Thank you Sue for everything! This was our first experience staying on the island and we loved it!

Perfect little spot for a winter getaway, the wood fire and spa kept us cosy and the house was lovely - nice furnishings and lots of games and puzzles to keep us entertained. Had everything we needed and more. Gorgeous private spot nestled in the trees, enjoyed the sunny mornings and bird life.

Relaxing Queens Bday on Waiheke

Thanks Sue for a great stay on Waiheke. This holiday home is the perfect location for a relaxing break. Walking distance from Ostend shops and equiped with a fire and spa, it was a great spot for a fairly soggy Waiheke stay.
