we had an awesome family retreat with perfect weather and lots of fun times. We love Waione, it is such a special place. roasting marshmallows over the open fire, and lots of board games to play in the evening! the rockpools were great to explore too!
Lovely historic house with plenty of room for all us. Nice big kitchen to prepare all the food and drinks, cosy fire, lots of games, we didn't need to bring our kubb! The adults and kids loved exploring the beach and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had a fantastic time here with the family! Bach is a classic rustic house with great inside areas to spread out and space outdoors to bbq and play lawn games. Great location near the beach with a nice calm swim spot for small children to boogie board their brains out (and they did even in October) and rock pools to explore. Host was very accommodating and
We had an amazing time in this beautiful, historic cottage at Mangakuri Beach. There is a lot of space, inside and outside, and it is a great house for families with children. The property is fully fenced and as it is just next to the beach, there is plenty to do. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to be back!
Even though we arrived in a howling storm, we enjoyed a couple of days relaxing by the fire. And when the sun came out, we enjoyed the beach. What a lovely time we had.
We had such an amazing stay at this beautiful place! It's a well loved family home, and we felt really lucky to be able to stay in this space. The house was cosy with the big open fireplace in the lounge, and the location couldn't have been better - sitting on the deck watching the ocean was just lovely! We had been recommended to stay here from friends who had stayed before, and we would 100% recommend this place for anyone that wants a casual beach weekend getaway.
What a privilege it was to stay in this generational family home, a real slice of Hawkes Bay history. A home full of character and walls that could tell many stories. Such a neat place, kids loved the beach access and listening to the waves at night was lovely.
Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise with us!
We really enjoyed our stay. Proximity to the beach was incredible. We played heaps of beach cricket with the kids, went for big walks on the (empty) beach and then played non stop table tennis when it clouded over.
Thanks again.
