Why Janice Wells chose Takitumu District
Island Time is a family-owned property - a great place to stay with plenty of room to spread out. The villas are well positioned on the large section with extensive plantings offering great privacy between the two. Each villa has a small selection of dvds, cds, games and books available for use plus WIFI access. We also have a plunge pool on the property for that quick morning or afternoon cool-down plus kayaks for paddling on Muri Lagoon. There are 3 single kayaks for shared use between the two villas. We are approximately 75m from the beach with access via a pathway across the road opposite the villas.
What makes this Villa unique
Fantastic location at the southern end of Muri and within walking distance to some great restaurants and activities. Close enough to all the action yet far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle of Muri village - here you really can relax and experience "island time".

Family-friendly and convenient
We loved our stay at Island Time Villas. The property is across the road from the beach and as it was windy during our stay we were actually glad to be in a sheltered garden rather than facing the sea. The property is well-located with the Muri shops a short walk in one direction and great snorkelling and Matutu brewery in the other. The house is well set up for young families with kids toys, high chairs and a cot available, playground equipment and plenty of private garden space as well as the pool. We would definitely come back!
Great place to stay
Great place to stay. Would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks.
Although the weather didn’t really go our way, the houses were amazing,
Our families stayed in both houses, and we had everything that families need. We had kids aged from 2 to 15 and besides unlimited internet for the teenager - because for them life isn’t worth living without it - they were kept entertained. The grounds are beautiful private, and well maintained. Loy was really helpful and friendly. The following suggestions wouldn’t be an issue if it didn’t rain, but an area for parking the car so the grass isn’t damaged by parking on it, and a spare clothesline to set up under the covered awning would be good ides. We would absolutely buy this if we could afford it. I would highly recommend it to any families planning a holiday to Rarotonga.
This house has very lovely grounds safe for children. Am glad we ended up in Villa Kakaia because it’s a bit back from the road. Has most things you need. The linen was clean but I could smell other people on the pillows, so was glad I had packed my own. Girls said their beds were very comfy. Awesome DVD selection and the playground was thoroughly enjoyed. Hardly used the pool as the weather went cool but definitely handy if it was super hot. The deck, porch area is fab and you get nice breezes on the east side of the island. Was so easy to dry our washing. All that is needed is a more comfortable living area or lounge suite inside the house. Location is great. Go to the Musuem Cafe for iced chocolate, iced lemonade, choc brownies and pies to die for!! Thanks for having us.
Such a beautiful home!
We loved our stay, what would have made it even better would be air con but we all loved the swimming pool and cold showers to make up for the fans. Our children didnt want to leave and we definitely will be back! Absolutely stunning home, thank you so much for sharing your home with us x
Amazing property and great for walking across the road to the sea,...
Amazing property and great for walking across the road to the sea, down to Muri Night Market, paddle boarding in the lagoon. Plenty of space for a big family group and very well equipped for self catering.
We're well located at the southern end of Muri and within walking distance to some great restaurants such as Sails - a fantastic beach-front location serving great Pacific-rim cuisine, Rickshaw - a small Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant, cafes called Deli-licious and LBV that have great coffee, muffins etc, a pharmacy, convenience stores, Villis take-away bar, car rentals, Blue Sky internet office, the Muri Night Markets, the Pacific Resort with a great "bare-foot" bar overlooking Muri Lagoon, Aqua Cafe/Restaurant at nearby Muri Beach Resort, Nautilus Resort and the newly opened Moana Sands Lagoon Resort across the road. All these places are within 1.2km from Island Time - a very pleasant stroll along the beach. Great swimming and snorkelling can be found close by at the Fruits of Rarotonga (Marine Reserve) and further towards Titikaveka.
