I am a Christian who has a great vision for this property. I want to use it for Christian purposes including training people, restoring people, hosting boutique weddings, corporate retreats, and health and fitness retreats.
Julian purchased this Lodge in 2008
Why Julian chose Rawhiti
I just adore old character homes. Unlike new modern homes, these historic homes have a personality. They tell a story. They are like a well loved and adored grand parent! Truly, Oke Bay Lode is like that. As soon as you walk in, you'll feel the warmth and the love in the atmosphere. If you read the visitors comments in our visitors book, these are common themes. There is a peace here that absolutely unique. To know what I am talking about you have to come and judge it for yourself.
What makes this Lodge unique
Peaceful. Quiet. Private. Isolated. 3 new bathrooms. Brand new fully equipped kitchen. Clean. Personality plus! Very rare to find a property like this with no neighbours on either side for 200m and a beach on both sides, one of them world class and world famous. I love swimming with dolphins and being out in New Zealand's finest beach and bush location.

Tremendous property for a retreat to a very scenic location with beaches for swimming and many walking trails.
Probably the best bach I have ever stayed in the last 20 years.
Although the receptionist accidentally duplicated the booking, the owner has tried his best to accomodate us and fix the problem.
Great service and we will definitely come back again!
The house has everything you have ever dreamed about a bach

Oke Bay Lodge is one of the best places we've stayed at...
Oke Bay Lodge is one of the best places we've stayed at - lovingly restored gorgeous historic building, extremely well set up with everything you'd need, stunning views, able to cater for large numbers of people easily (we had 15) and easy walking distance to one of NZ's most stunning beaches - kid friendly and great snorkelling. We would love to come back again.
We absolutely loved staying at the lodge
We absolutely loved staying at the lodge. The glorious views over the bay, the incredible beach at Oke Bay, dolphin visits, superb weather and the peace and tranquility of the place make this place hard to beat.
Definitely want to go back in the future and would highly recommend it.
Huge decks at back and front for entertaining. Large lawn area for playing/tents. Dolphins often come into Oke Bay and many a visitor to Oke Bay Villa has swum with them. If you are into walking or trail biking, you won't be disappointed. There are many interesting walks and trails: old whaling station, Kauri forest, sunken ship wreck, and many other shorter walks in and around Rawhiti. Once you are there, and you settle in, believe me, you won't want to go anywhere else! But if you do...Other things to do include: visit Russell's historic township and once the colonial capital of New Zealand (35 minutes by car). In and around Russell are Russell Museum; Big game fishing in the outer waters of the Bay of Islands Adventure; Parks; Art galleries; R Tucker Thompson tall sailing ship which cruises the islands; Sunset cruising; Restaurants, Cafes, and Wineries; Boat cruises around the Bay of Islands; The 'Hole in the Rock'; Horse riding ; The Okiato-Opua car ferry; Kayaking in the sheltered waters of the harbour; Opua to Paihia Coastal walk; Orongo Bay oyster farms; Sport fishing; Sunday markets at Kerikeri - 45 minutes north; Water-sports, diving, snorkeling and surfing; Yachting and twilight sailing (seasonal); Native forests and glow-worm caves.Points of Interest: Christ Church in Russell, the oldest church in NZ; Waitangi Treaty Grounds, Pompellier Mission, Flagstaff/Te Maiki Hill etc. Walks: Walkway from Rawhiti to the historic whaling station at Whangamumu; Walkway from Okiato to Orongo Bay; Walkway to Cape Brett Lighthouse. To watch a great video of the property, go to You Tube and search for "cape brett walking track and Oke Bay Lodge". NB: The $110 is only for a SINGLE person renting the whole 6 bedroom Lodge. The price per person goes down per night per person when large groups stay i.e. We have a sliding scale of costs. Basically, the bigger the group who stay, the cheaper the per person per night rate becomes.
When you book, we ask you for a $500 bond which is refunded to you if you leave the Lodge like you found it.
There are security cameras operating to protect you the guest, and our beautiful home.
