Lake Hawea is a paradise for those who love the outdoors. Handy 15 minute drive to Wanaka, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Central Otago climate and landscape. The active holidaymaker will easily stay occupied as Hawea and Wanaka are popular for cycling, skiing, hiking, boating, windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. There are 2 restaurants within 2 minutes walk of the cabin, 2 takeaway places, a bar and a local convenience store. My house is a 5 minute walk from the lake!
Special conditions: The cabin is on my large back lawn. I generally try and be as quiet as possible when guests are staying and will inform guests when they book if a social occasion is planned while they are staying.

Poor experience
Very poor communication despite emailing and ringing. Friendly pleasant hostess who allowed us to check in early to a pleasant clean unit behind owners house in an untidy section. Owners head loud music playing until after 3am on Saturday night. Would not recommend.
A pleasant sleep out to use as a base to enjoy the area.
This is a self contained sleep out to the rear of the hosts home.there is side access to unload your vehicle and park.A small fridge, plates, cups etc and microwave and hotplate are good to do basic cooking(kettle/toaster also).Comfortable bed, good shower, couch and should you need it,TV with dvd's.Easy walk to lake beach and nearby eateries/hotel.Friendly and helpful hosts.Peaceful area.easy to find.Cabin gets a bit hot with sun steaming in but a cooler is supplied and has ranch slider entrance for wide airing.Wee deck out front with table and chairs. We loved our stay here, magic country.Enjoy.

I think the trip to Lake Hawea couldn't have been any better!
Amanda was the best host over! Had an epic time staying at her property. I would recommend Amanda happily and would recommend you to book quickly because her property is not awesome.

Location great.
Location great. A short walk to cabin to unload the car. Very close to a great resturant in the pub.
I am a mother, business consultant and airbnb host. I live in Lake Hawea with my fiancee, Tigs and daughter Scarlett. I enjoy entertaining and showing people the beautiful area I live in. I enjoy gardening, reading, music, food and wine. I have traveled around the USA, Europe and UK and Ireland. If you stay with me I will show you an authentic Nz experience, meeting local people and showing you places that tourists wouldn't normally find.
Why they chose this property
A beautiful affordable cabin, close to the pristine Hawea lakefront and prime positioned to the restaurants and village amenities.
