Set in the heart of Nelson City in the historic precinct of South Street Harriett's Cottage was built in 1863 with major renovation undertaken during 2014-15. Now with modern comforts including full insulation, comfortable furnishings, well equipped kitchen( including dishwasher) , underfloor heating in bathroom, free WiFi, private sunny courtyard garden complete with BBQ, this one bedroom cottage is a home away from home.

This is a delightful little cottage, high quality furnishings and linen, quiet and close to town, lovely courtyard. Very clean and the selection of food available goes way beyond what I would expect. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway for 2. Eva is a wonderful host.

Nelson Cottage

Cottage was perfect. In a great central location. Cottage was well equipped with lots of lovely homely touches such as umbrellas and shopping bags. Also the simple food supplies on arrival were appreciated. Host very responsive. Overall could not fault our stay. It was perfect.

Home away from home💟

Had everything you could possibly want including an electric blanket and the flowers were a nice touch. An adorable cottage very tastefully decorated and Eva was the perfect host.

Amazing beautiful historic place to stay. Everything at your finger tips - including oat milk and a coffee machine. Above and beyond service - even chasing the parking permit I left in our hire vehicle. Would definitely stay again & again.

Beautifully historic yet modern

Wonderful place to stay in Nelson's amazing historical street. The place was incredibly clean, tidy, and new. It had everything we needed and is super handy to everything. Eva was so accommodating and helpful before, during, and after our stay. Looking forward to coming back sometime.

A treasure in Nelson

What a magnificent quaint cottage in the heart of Nelson. Nothing could have prepared us for this elegantly appointed cottage! There was nothing to improve on and the thoughtful touches were a lovely surprise. And we look forward to our next trip.

A little bit of history in a superb location

A historic cottage, superbly renovated with hardwood floors, area rugs, and high quality appliances. It felt like it was furnished for someone that wanted to live there, and not for rental purposes: Smeg cappuccino and coffee maker, Fisher-Paykel drawer dishwasher, Japanese forged stainless kitchen knives. Weber BBQ Grill, high quality local products in kitchen and bath, and fresh flower bouquets in living room and kitchen. Attention had been given to all details. We felt right at home and did not want to leave. Absolutely perfect, we highly recommend this cottage.

Idyllic location and comfort

Beautifully renovated with every convenience catered for. Generous treats in the fridge, comfortable spaces to curl up with a book both inside and in the manicured garden, kitchen equipped to suit all tastes and needs. Lovely to be in such a quiet street yet accessible to much of Nelson's culture and heritage. Music at NCMA and the Cathedral, art at the Suter Gallery and the central city Artwalk, and the exciting Saturday market with something for everyone. Such treats!

Beautiful Harriett's Cottage

We adored Harriett's Cottage! It was just beautiful, light and spacious. It had everything you needed. It had the loveliest courtyard you could sit out in. Eva spoiled us with lovely treats. She had thought of everything. It was quiet and everything was at your doorstep. We could have moved in! It was just delightful! We can't wait to come back. Thank you so much, Eva.

Immaculate historic cottage

Every detail in this restored cottage is immaculately and tastefully done. Our host was so thoughtful, down to filling the pot with water for our afternoon tea! I couldn’t be more impressed with the level of comfort she provided: extra duvets, pillows, heated mattress (if needed), highest quality breakfast foods and basics in the fridge for us. This was the last few days of our stay in New Zealand and I can’t think of a nicer place to spend it in. We stayed in just to enjoy the back garden and sun one afternoon. It’s also right in the town center, perfect for short or long strolls. The bells of the cathedral on a Sunday afternoon were impressive and ebulliently rung! I can’t say enough about this property and its host. Stay here if you can!

The cottage is located on an historic street of cottages which just adds to the charm of this gorgeous property. It is picture perfect and indeed perfect in every way. Superb location, inviting and comfortable, and beautifully curated. The host is excellent at communicating and has thoughtfully provided extensive information about the cottage, a lovely breakfast pantry with teas and coffee and a lot of other creature comforts. An absolute delight.

This charming cottage was a haven during an extended stay in Nelson. It had everything I needed and the geography was perfect for enjoying central Nelson. Eva is a considerate generous host who cares about her guests and is on call all the time. I will be back to enjoy this space and the quiet surroundings.

Perfect spot

The cottage is perfect size with all the creature comforts for a few days stay in Nelson. Beautifully restored with all the modern touches we come to rely on but tastefully hidden to not spoil the charm of this historic building. We’d definitely come back.

Harriet's Cottage - Nelson

Our stay at Harriet's Cottage was fabulous. Everything was perfect. The Cottage had everything we needed, was immaculate, and wonderfully located right in the middle of everything. We wished we could have stayed longer. Our host Eva's communication and clear instructions made checking in and out so easy.

It doesn’t get better than this

t doesn’t get any better than this, no seriously ! From the initial communication to the day leaving, you could not ask for a better stay experience. Eva is super responsive, always available and clear in communications. The cottage is Impeccably updated and maintained. Every space is perfect for its intended function - window seat a cozy place to read a book, couch for watching the latest Netflix movie, comfortable warm bed for a peaceful slumber, large bathroom with heated floors and towel rack for a spa experience, sunny kitchen to enjoy your morning coffee, and private backyard to have a BBQ. I could go on but I do have a warning. Book this beautiful cottage as your last stop in your vacation because every other place will pale in comparison.

Practically perfect in every way

Harriett's Cottage is quintessentially quaint! Perfectly located in the heart of the city in a historic and super pretty street. Eva has fitted out the cottage in such a thoughtful way, tastefully decorated with high end facilities such as the Smeg coffee machine. Bedding really comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. There is a fun sofa in the bay window at the front which is a lovely spot to relax in. All in all a simply perfect set up, can't fault a thing. Thank you for having us!

Beautiful cottage. Not just a rental, a cozy home for a stay.

I have rented numerous vacation stays through VRBO and have to say that this cottage is THE BEST to date! Eva's attention to detail and hospitality are above and beyond. She has done an outstanding job updating the cottage yet preserved the historic feel of one of the original settler cottages of Nelson. I have never had a host leave us a breakfast of granola, yogart and fresh frozen berries!! WOW!! Such a treat to stay here and to be hosted by the best host I've ever "met".
