Comfortable furniture and beds. Very well equipped for a family stay. Was a bit dusty with cobwebs. Recommend owners do a quick check of property if not used for lengthy periods.
Big house, plenty of room. A touch dated and due for a remodel/deep clean. Back deck furniture was dirty, but we didn’t use it. Also no grill as advertised. Hosts were super nice and easy to contact.
We have no complaints, we weren't there a lot, we were out and about and square dancing. Just needed a place to lay our head each night, so it served its purpose just nicely.
No shower mats, with tile floors was a pain and slippery, no TV, and not able to use exterior door due to being locked. Heating was good along with good garage space.
Quite a few roaches in the kitchen.

Thank you for your feedback. We have had pest control treating the property a few weeks ago. As linen is not included we will look into providing bath mats going forward.
The house was great. Double bed with the bunk above had a terrible mattress. Other beds were good. There were lots of cochroaches on the kitchen bench and draws. Not nice at all. There is a lot of road noise from Napier Rd but was a good place besides those issues

We are glad to hear you have enjoyed your stay. Pest Control has been appointed to the property recently to take care of the cockroach situation.
Great location for us, we were square dancing at the Intermediate school on Kotare St. Plenty of living space. Great that there was an ensuite, that meant 2 bathrooms for 5 people.
Just FYI, there seems to be a bit of a cockroach issue. We killed and cleaned up maybe 10 of the little blighters. (and took them away in our rubbish). They were predominantly along the kitchen bench area under the kitchen window. We weren't too worried about it, took a pretty pragmatic approach. But no doubt there'll be more. Just thought you should know.
Our Group debated long and hard how we should rate this property, whether a three or four star review. 3.5 would have been about right. The house was in a good location, about 4 km from the centre, a short walk to the lake front and handy for the Botanical gardens. It was functional and met all of our needs regarding accommodation - good sized kitchen, ample lounge space, large dining table. However, two things let it down. First, it could do with a serious redecoration and fixes. The decor is tired, verging on shabby, including damp in the bathroom areas. A minor, but also to arrive and find the lawns weren't even cut (they were done the next day) just gave an air of a neglected property.Second, and the one we just cannot comprehend is the instruction to take all of our rubbish away with us, i.e. bag it and take it to the tip! I mean, really? What sort of service is that, especially given the rates charged for renting the place?
Great location for our stay and close to Debretts hot pools.
The main disappointment was the linen being extra as we have never had this before at other Bookabach houses, also the dryer was broken and not working. looked a little tired.
We’ll laid out for a family. The holiday home catered well for our long weekend away.

Very disappointed in the.staye of the property.
Convenient place for the key, great location.
House needs a deep clean. Heatpump needs a service and clean. Vacuum cleaner doesn't work very well. Some maintenance issues need attending to, bath tap fell off in hand, dryer vent fell off.
We we're disappointed in the property. Some money needs to be spent on the property.
Not very clean, this place is very un loved, someone needs to go threw and do a deep clean on the property.

Nothing flash
It was very plain, coffee was hard in jar so couldn't use it. No Internet was unusual. Need to clean out their mail and a spring clean would be good. Having to take all rubbish or pay to dump it not great.

Good open space - Dirty
We have stayed here before and it has been good for a family as it is quite empty and spacious with kids. Unfortunately this time it was very un-clean. Bugs/spiders everywhere throughout the house, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned- we had to wash the BBQ before and after use and even had to wipe the dining table before using it. It looked as though we were the first visitors this season. You need to take your own linen which is fine but the duvets supplied weren’t great. It’s a good place when you have a busy trip planned and just want to sleep there. Good location, no Wi-Fi or much to do. Our stay was ok. I wouldn’t recommend staying again as the cleanliness/hygiene was a real put off, and the lack of internet is a let down. We have stayed at much better places with much better amenities, the price is too high for what it is.
