I'm an Aussie who met a Kiwi in Tokyo, lived in Ireland, got engaged in South Africa then married in beautiful Akaroa many moons later! Despite the prior great travel experiences I have loved putting down roots in Christchurch where we have been now for 17 years.
We have a 13 year old girl and 11 year old boy who keep us very busy! When our place isn't booked in Akaroa we love getting over there as it is my happy place to escape - I love the native birds in particular, watching the Keruru (native wood pigeon who look like cute flying footballs!) and the fantails which love the trees around our place there.
Before getting our own place in Akaroa we stayed in lots of holiday rentals and often wished that they had had more things for littlies to do - so you'll notice there are heaps of children's books, games and toys at Seaclusion :)
We hope you love it as much as we do. Enjoy your stay!!

Why they chose this property

As soon as we looked through this property we knew it was the right one for us - we had been looking for a while as my Husband grew up in Akaroa and we wanted to offer our kids the same unplugged experiences as he was fortunate to have.
The house was immediately so welcoming - the previous owners had built it as a holiday home so it had already had many happy family memories created there. They actually retired there so they were very happy to know that it was being passed onto another family who would cherish it as they had.
