The Treehut: perched in the Bush with bird song
Perched in the bush and only 30 metres from the sea, this cosy split-level house offers a peaceful relaxing setting, complemented by a large deck and a great view. This property is an original bach and offers great value and a simple holiday experience.
This property is in within 15 minutes easy flat stroll or 2 minutes’ drive down to the centre of the village of Akaroa and all it offers, and is well suited to those wanting to explore the beautiful Bank Peninsula region.
Tourist activities include both dolphin watching and swimming with dolphins, guided kayaking, fishing and swimming, hiking, walks and a relaxed village around which you can just stroll and enjoy the views, the people, the atmosphere...
There’s a good children’s playground if travelling with children, beaches for playing in and a pleasant drive by car to the outer bays of the Peninsula will find some nice surf beaches. Banks Peninsula even has a couple of hidden surfing spots which are world renown. The village also boasts a decent sized supermarket, many cafes, and a host of wonderful restaurants. The safe bay also offer great walks and hikes, along with boutique shopping, galleries, wineries and the famous Barry Point cheese factory.
Akaroa is 1,5 hours from Christchurch city, and has a regular mini-bus service operating between Christchurch City, and both the International and Domestic airports if you’re arriving from another city.

Access is via a steep but short path up to house from car park
