This well equipped, modern holiday home has had a recent refurbishment and is presented sparkling clean and quite special. Free wifi is provided for guests in the house.
The house is all on one level and is elevated for the sea views. An easy set of wide steps leads from the driveway parking to the house. A 'Broil King' hooded BBQ has been added to the outdoor dining space - with a built in thermostat this BBQ can be used as a conventional BBQ or as an outdoor oven to bake a homemade pizza or roast a juicy chicken or leg of pork.
Inside, the stylish living/dining room has a flat screen television with freeview satellite TV, as well as good lighting for reading. A big 8kw Daikin heat pump and a double layer of insulation in the ceiling will keep you warm and cosy in the winter as well as cooler in the summer. The kitchen is well equipped and is well lit and bright. The bathroom has been updated and has a wall mounted fan heater. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the second bedroom has a double bed. Both bedrooms are a perfect retreat for guests, with good quality beds. Absolutely fantastic location, private, sunny and comfy yet only a short stroll into town. Great communication from our hosts too. Stunning views over the harbour and we loved being able to sit on the deck with a wine watching the sun set! Loved our stay!
A lovely, comfortable and clean accommodation with a beautiful view. Quiet yet a short walk to everything. I felt the host really did care, which is something starting be be hard to find.
We stayed 3 nights which was great for us toward the end of our three weeks in New Zealand. Perfect location for us to be able to both relax at the house and explore the town and the surrounding area. Highly recommended property and place to visit.
Excellent location, beautiful views, idyllic. One of the most stunning places we have stayed. Driveway was not too much of an issue, but we have a 4 wheel drive and a good reversing camera. We would love to stay here again, the property and facilities were all first class.
The wonderful views were like magnets - we were continually drawn to the verandah and windows to admire the beauty of Akaroa. The house was a home away from home - very comfortable and a home away from home! It was the perfect place for a great holiday!
We had a wonderful few days. The view is uplifting as is the location. The sights, sounds and peacefulness from our accomodation was just what we needed to relax and enjoy our time. Walking distance from everything but far enough away to be quietly restful. The place was very clean comfortable and had all we needed. We would definitely stay again.
My sister and I stayed in this delightful cottage for a few days while we visited the beautiful Fishermans Bay Gardens. The cottage is clean, comfortable and pretty. The views from the deck are beautiful at any time of day. On the first morning I awoke to birdsong and a glorious sunrise over the harbor of Akaroa. Our hosts were accessible and thoughtful -- fresh garden flowers on the counter for our arrival! We loved our visit and would stay here again.
The holiday house had modern furnishings
and was tastefully set up. Wonderful view over Akaroa township. Great verandah and outdoor space. A pleasant stay except for the driveway.
Thankyou.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay in this lovely house, so comfortable, and well-equipped The views from the deck are truly stunning. It is conveniently located, just a short walk from restaurants and every other place you might want to visit in town. We enjoyed meeting warm and gracious Belinda who owns the house with husband John. Many thanks to them both. We highly recommend this holiday home.
We had a lovely stay at this Cottage. It was well set up and beautifully situated. We loved being able to walk everywhere and leave the car behind. Though the driveway was steep the view was definitely worth it. Akaroa was beautiful and we went on a habour cruise and saw 12-15 hectors dolphins which was the icing on the cake. We'd love to visit again another time.

Thank you so much for your kind comments Jo & Phil. We really appreciated the care you took with our cottage, and you'd certainly be welcome to visit again the next time you head to the South Island to visit your son.
Belinda and John went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The cottage was absolutely spotless upon our arrival, and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for our visit. We were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful little touches, such as a handwritten note welcoming us and a bouquet of flowers in a vase. The cottage's location is perfect, just a short stroll from the supermarket and boulangerie. However, the best part was the amazing views of the harbour and surrounding hills. Even during the rainy weather, the place felt nice and cosy. We had a very relaxing break and were reluctant to leave. We would definitely consider staying here again!
