About this property

Beth's Place II - On The River - Hot Tub & New Pickleball Court! You'll love it!

Beth's Place II is a new, beautifully furnished apartment that was built in March 2020. It is located above our garage and offers complete privacy. The apartment has one bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed, a living room with a twin-size sleeper sofa, and a full-size Murphy bed that can be pulled down as needed. The well-equipped kitchen features a full-size stove, a dining area, and everything you need to prepare a meal. There is also a lovely full bathroom with a washer and dryer, towels, washcloths, and basic toiletries.

The apartment has a private entrance with 14 steps leading up to the front door and has ample parking spaces.

Guests can relax and unwind in their private outdoor space, complete with a hot tub and stunning river views. The outdoor area also features chairs, a fire pit, a grill, and beautiful lights at night.

Our property itself is also quite lovely, and guests are welcome to use our brand-new pickleball court installed in September 2023, and the putting green in the front yard. The Raquette River, which flows right behind our house, is also available for our guests. The trail leading down to the river has handrails to make it easier to navigate, and we also provide kayaks and a fire pit down by the river for our guests.

Our stretch of the Raquette River flows all the way to downtown Potsdam, making it an excellent opportunity to kayak there and explore the town. Please note that kayaking is only available from May to November. We cover the putting green once it starts to snow.

Very clean and homey! We stayed in Beth’s place 2, it was perfect on the side of the house and we had privacy with great views on the river. My name is Beth Reasoner, and my husband Jim and I have been residents of Potsdam, NY, for most of our lives. We keep ourselves busy by managing our apartment rental business, a business that we've been running in Potsdam for more than 25 years.

One day, my husband had the idea to convert the first floor of our home into a bed and breakfast. We opened for business three weeks later and named our establishment Beth's Place. This year, 2024, we are celebrating ten years of operation. We have had hundreds of reservations from people all over the world. In March 2020, we expanded our business by opening our second bed and breakfast, Beth's Place II, located above our garage. We take pride in maintaining our places in excellent condition, ensuring that they are clean, well-equipped, and beautiful. We are confident that you will love staying at either one of our bed and breakfasts.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I originally purchased this home to finish and then sell. While working on the home, we fell in love with the property and the river and decided to sell our house and move in.

What makes this property unique

There is lots to do on our property. We have a putting green and a new pickleball court (installed on 9/2023) for our guests to enjoy. And our stretch of the Raquette River flows right to the village of Potsdam. So kayaking to the town for dinner or shopping is a must from June to November.
