The Paris Suite is part of 4 bdrm Copper Gate - the other 3 bedrooms are 'closed off' and unoccupied for your stay.

Corru Gate + Copper Gate + Kissing Gate are built with sustainability and family-friendliness in mind. Built as an eco-architect project in partnership with Polytech students, it is one of NZ's most eco of eco-homes. We value our natural environment (open spaces, birds, native trees). We've spray-free orchards – grab a lemon for your GandT on the deck, or enjoy a delicious breakfast grapefruit or free-range eggs (in season). Hand-feed our tame sheep. Super insulation and a woodburner make for toasty-warmness in winter. Cool in summer.
Weddings and reunions? We can sleep up to 20 at The Gates including Corru Gate, and Kissing Gate.
A large lounge, chef's-delight kitchen, en suite and sumptuous king-bed bedroom are a pleasure to relax in.
The Paris Suite is central for exploration and adventure. Wander our gently sloping farm taking in the views. Nelson's best cafes/studios are just 3 mins drive in the seaside village of Mapua - or walk/cycle there. Nearby - beaches, inlet, wharf jumping, cycle ferry/trails. The Great Taste Trail accessed via a feeder trail at the Paris Suite's driveway. Use our route guides and ample storage. Wineries just along road. Art studios, potteries, Abel Tasman, Kaiteriteri, Nelson, rivers nearby. Owners are 150m away for advice.

Adele and I love sharing our 7 acres of Nelson paradise with guests - we are 150m away, which leaves the Paris Suite as discreetly private as can be. We are well travelled and enjoy pottering on our orchards and fields as well as creative pursuits - one of our accommodations has been profiled by TripAdvisor in the top 14 most awesome and creative places in the WORLD!
Why they chose this property
We wanted a lifestyle that was private, rural and with great views, as well as being close to a city. Our property in Seaton Valley ticked all the boxes! Our wee local village means it is rich in networks and a sense of belonging and contribution.
Roger was asked to teach Outdoor Education locally, so why not move from Auckland to this outdoors paradise? Adele continued her corporate life, telecommuting, until our children's arrival put a temporary stop to that. We now both work part-time off the property but pour our passion for creativity and guest service in to our property: The Gates Accommodation. We farm sheep and grow fruit.
Mapua seaside village is THE place to live in Nelson. The beaches, cafes, walks, artisans, rural bliss are all right here.
