Rustic Farm Cottage in Wanstead Valley

Our cottage is situated up a long tree lined driveway, and well off the main road. Just opposite the old Wanstead Hotel and cute church. Wanstead is a picturesque valley, only 15 minutes from Waipukurau. The local beaches are 30km away , a 25 minute drive. The main home is only 100m away, but the living is on the far side, so your privacy is maintained. The cottage is part of a working farm, with a historic woolshed in its views.
This is the place for a break away from busy lives, with no cellphone coverage. Wifi is now available in the cottage.
I have everything available if you have little children. High chair, mountain buggy, cot, children's books and toys are all available.
This cottage is on the same driveway as another accommodation option - if you have more family / friends wishing to stay in this area. Look for 'A quiet, secluded farm residence' - Host is Margaret under Porangahau area. Property # 20032376.
Special conditions: Pets allowed with our approval, as this is a working farm.

Wow, what a wonderful break away we had The freedom to walk around and watch the running of the farm was amazing. We certainly timed our stay at a busy time. The supplies provided were much appreciated. Wonderful cozy, clean cottage, and there was everything available for our stay, our small fur baby enjoyed his play with the big boys. Needless to say Amanda and family were very welcoming hosts, and we will definitely be back, again and again.

My family and I would return to the cottage in a heartbeat - it was an idyllic spot and so lovely for our Australian friend to experience. It was a working farm yet Amanda and her family were very respectful of our privacy and quiet enjoyment of the cottage. We were also terribly appreciative being able to bring our small lapdogs with us, it made all the difference. It was so lovely to meet their friendly dogs Finn and Buster, and Flopsy the goat, and seeing sheep and deer.

We always feel nervous when staying at a new place, but we felt instantly welcome and it wasn't long before we felt right at home! The beds are warm and comfy and the kitchen is well stocked with equipment etc. Our kids especially loved the puzzles, toys and games! We will definately stay again!

Don and I farm 350 hectare, sheep, beef and deer farm. We love the Flemington, Wanstead district. The cottage is now spare, as we built a new home in 2017. It is nice to share a wee piece of paradise with NZers, and tourists.

Why they chose this property

It is off the beaten track, private and peaceful. Plus is a separate building to our home, so an entire cottage to yourselves.
