Sweet Get Away

We loved the experience with both the house and the entire surrounding area. The people are just as lovely as the view. A nice experience we wish to repeat.

This is a property with many activities or just relaxation. Neighbours were kind and helpful. The cottage was very nice and had a great view, but there were some problems. The downstairs shower nozzle was broken, which was quite inconvenient. The one sofa on the upper deck had one side of the netting missing making it unusable. But we were quite surprised at the initial instructions regarding the use of the cottage. It was DON’T move any of the furniture, DON’T go into the garage, etc. It didn’t really feel that the owners appreciated us renting their vacation property.

Communication with the Host was poor. 8 to 24 hours till we would receive a reply. Questions were not answered in a timely fashion, and there was no manual available for the house. For example, no instructions on how to turn on a fireplac. We were told a pool and hot tub were available, but when we got there, we found out it was closed. We asked the host why it wasn’t open and she redirected us to a pool and hot tub at the top of the hill that we were not told about. This was 12 hours after we asked the question. Prior to this I had asked several times if all the amenities were available and did not receive a reply. Also as a VRBO guest, we were not allowed to use the fitness facility and we were told that is only for owners.Also, the cleaning fee was over 250 for two nights, and we had to take our own garbage a kilometre up the hill to the disposal site. I would expect for that sort of fee that would be part of the cleaning fee. The property itself was very nice, and well kept. But I would not book here again based on the poor service from the host. There are plenty of other properties to choose from.

This guest left us a bad review because we couldn't provide a late checkout, due to guests checking in the same day. We run a professional hosting company and all information for every stay is provided upon check in. We responded quickly to this guest, as we do with everyone. The resort map provided to this guest had all of the information for all pools and hot tubs etc. The fireplace switch is right beside the fireplace and we responded immediately when they asked. Our listing is very accurate with photos, description and all amenities. For future guests, please let us know if you have any questions, we'll be happy to respond in a timely manner.
