Wonderful location right on the bay. Comfortable bed. Kitchen stove, etc worked well. Good shower water pressure. Loved the nice yard, water views, deck area. Road our bikes to town every day.
The property was cozy and clean. Everything was great with our stay but did notice a strong sewer smell after the rain on Wednesday and Thursday. Kitchen equipment all worked great. It was a perfect spot for our family trip.
Property was clean, pet friendly. Nice view of the lake. My husband found the bed too soft to sleep on in the middle of the night and slept on the couch.
Very cozy and peaceful little cabin. My girlfriend and I stayed with our 2 dogs, and all had a fantastic time :) So many things to see and do in the area. A long weekend was not enough!

My wife and I took a short trip to celebrate our Anniversary and have never been to this part of Michigan. It was a great little spot tucked away and gave us that cozy lake cottage feel that we were looking for. The village of Northport was a short walk away and very enjoyable. If you are looking for a slower pace, away from the crazy traffic and noises of a city, this cottage is a great place to rent.

Reviewer Comments:
Great location. I know the owners are working hard and this potentially will be a gem, but right now it needs serious updates. There is a bad sewer odor most likely from disintegrating cast iron sewer lines under the cabin. Flooring needs replacing and the cabin has no air conditioning which is a must in this low, humid area. Presently it's just a super old cabin in a great location that needs lots of TLC

This was a great spot for a long weekend for my husband and me. Plenty of room for two people. The fireplace was nice and the kitchen had the basics (though no basic ingredients, e.g. cooking oil). The location was the best feature though- right on Grand Traverse Bay with a gorgeous view out the back of the house. Close to several wineries and hiking trails. Less than a mile from Northport, so very walkable. The cons: The home had a horrible smell when we arrived. We opened all the windows and turned on fans. That helped a little. It got better every day, especially when we bought an air freshener. There were also tiny ants that showed up if we left any food on the counter. The rental company was responsive and said they'd reimburse us for the air freshener.

We are pleased to know that you found this home to be a great location for wineries, hiking and amazing views. We did speak to you regarding the smell - we have investigated and removed the offending odor. We do advise guest not to leave food out. Unfortunately we do not provide cooking oils.
Thank you for staying with us!
