New owners! We fell in love with Inn of the sea 13 years ago and can’t wait to share this beautiful place with you. This Waterfront, 2nd floor studio unit at Inn of the Sea Resort features an amazing view of the water from its private patio and living space, our open plan Studio Suite offers 450 square feet of living area with a comfortable Queen size bed, a full 4-piece bath, Gallery style kitchenette featuring a breakfast/eating counter with bar stools, 2 burner cooktop, toaster oven, microwave and mini fridge, and private water view balcony (perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise with a morning coffee). A perfect place to relax after a day of excursions or maybe you just want to settle in right here.

The complex sits on 3.5 acres of ocean front land. Featuring outdoor heated pool(seasonal), hot tub(year round), tennis court, playground, BBQ dining areas, fire pit and 100ft dock(boat moorage available for an additional fee from May to October - please inquire for availability and rates).

Time spent at Inn of the Sea is magic. Lazy mornings spent sipping coffee on your patio enjoying the sunrise watching the ocean come to life. Spend your mornings beachcombing the sandstone tidal pools and white shell beaches on the expansive beachfront. Spend your afternoons, kayaking in the sheltered waters, crabbing off the end of the dock or lazing in and around the pool and hot tub.
We have stayed here as a couple and we have stayed as a family with our 2 kids and both magical! We hope to frequent this beautiful island as often as we can.
This will be a unique vacation experience you will never forget! It is Vancouver Island at its best.

We are located 15 minutes South of Nanaimo, 70 minutes to Victoria and 10 minutes from the town of Ladysmith. BC Ferries, Duke Point terminal and Nanaimo Regional Airport are only 10 minutes away. A car is highly recommended to stay at the inn of the sea. Monthly rentals available October- May, please inquire regarding price.

The location is truly remarkable. The studio suited our needs very well; lots of light and access to beautiful views, beach walks and kayaking. The grounds were lovely and quiet. Several multi-generational families were staying at the complex, clearly having a terrific time but keeping quiet hours and following the guidelines.

This was a great getaway- not far from lots of Island Adventures. We came to be able to see friends and family throughout the rainy weekend. Got to enjoy the hot pool and using the kitchen for some meals was a helpful to our budget.

Lovely Location - little attitude

Communicating was a bit challenging. Finally got connected but too late to adjust my booking. Room is large and the little kitchen has anything I needed. Two big beach towels were an unexpected bonus. I went for an ocean swim - bring water shoes since the barnacles and shells are sharp. Way too many kids for me this time - swam at 8 am or after they left for bedtime at 8pm. Pool is perfect temperature though. Hot tub is great but today two. Dry young (under 5) kids were in the hot tub . When I looked around their parents were on the second floor balcony- one kid had a little safety vest on. Not very cool to leave your kids alone in a pool and hot tub.the only reason I didn’t give a great rating is the door to this unit is glass (centre is etched) but at night the outside light was very bright and kept waking me up. Next day I bought a sleeping mask. Oh and it isn’t a smart tv so unless you have your laptop along you can’t login to streaming channels. The view is nice and there are even binoculars.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately when you book a last minute promotion price it’s difficult to move dates when your booking is within the same week. We pride ourselves on our communication and apologize it didn’t meet your standards. We are happy the room met all your needs. As for the front door, we have custom blinds on order for the unit as we speak but they won’t be installed until late fall. The TV has Shaw cable (includes multiple channels) and as mentioned when you called me regarding the TV you can simply sign into Crave, Netflix, Prime, etc on the TV and then sign out before you leave. No laptop is needed. We’re sorry to hear the noise from the pool was a bit too much during your stay. The pool is a shared space, and sometimes it can get lively-especially when kids are having fun-but we totally understand that it can be disruptive. We’ll pass your comments along to the property team and look into ways to help keep things a little more peaceful for everyone!

My husband and I are from Saskatchewan and stayed at the Inn of the sea for our second anniversary in 2010. The views are spectacular, we loved catching rock crab right from the dock. We love to travel and this place was always in our top favorite places. We had the chance to bring our kids here a few years ago in the summer and it was the best vacation, our kids loved every second.
We played tennis, spent hours walking along the beach during low tide (finding all kinds of seashells, starfish, clams) caught fish and crab off the dock (fishing license required), swan in the pool and hot tub, and brought paddle boards to enjoy the ocean on a calm day. For us it was such a dream vacation that we decided we wanted to buy a place and not only get to continue to enjoy with our family but to share with others.
The ocean views in this unit are spectacular, on nice days we live on the private patio and soak in the beauty. It's the perfect spot to watch the sunrise with a morning coffee and enjoy adult beverages in the afternoon/evening (or morning if you want - no judgement here).
