About this property

You HOME away from home!

Nestled on a 3.4-acre private lot with a 1000 sq ft viewing deck. Each bedroom comes equipped with heated mattress pads and a smart TV. Fully loaded kitchen with basic amenities provided ensures that you can prepare your own meals. The living room also has a smart TV. Individual temp. systems in each room allow you to control the temperature to your liking. Fencing is not completely enclosed. Outdoor fire, wood not provided. Fire safety expected. two steps away. There is a hose on the property for guest to use, but because we are on a slope it is difficult to access so we ask for guest to use extreme caution. We also ask guest not to access our private shed. ***There are 4 security cameras installed that monitor who comes and goes on the property. INSURANCE RULES STATE ONLY REGISTERED GUESTS ALLOWED. The cameras are located in the front facing the street/driveway, one facing the shed (at the bottom of the stairs) and one behind the shed facing the back of our property.*** We look forward to hosting you in our home away from home!!

It is an old cabin with some funny quirks, so should you ever have any questions on how to work something, please don't hesitate to reach out! Please note that the style of outdoor chairs may change due to needing to be replaced if a guest breaks and the arrangement of the chairs, charcoal grill and propane griddle will vary. There is also an umbrella now on the table. Also please note the bedroom arrangement of furniture, and color of sheets/blankets may change.

Beautiful, peaceful

An amazing property in a central location to hiking and historic places. Highly recommend setting time to hang out on the deck and stargaze, the stars glitter the skies here! We’ll be back.

The stay was awesome, the elk right outside the door were amazing!! A couple things like trash bags were out, I had trouble reaching some things in the kitchen cabinets (I'm very short though so that's mostly on me) but overall the stay was great. The arms of the couch were loose but it didn't cause us any grief and it's tough if you have a toddler that gets into everything so keep that in mind! Not very baby proofing friendly.

Cozy, rustic cabin.

First of all location, location, location. No luxuries but cozy and pleasant. Quiet and secluded exactly what we were looking for. You can't beat the price.

Great Cabin

The cabin was clean, and inviting. Me and my Mom and the weiner dogs felt right at home. The host is friendly and responsive. Would definitely consider staying again when looking into future visits to Strawberry AZ.

Elk Retreat

Need hand railings next to steps outside and inside house. Need more than a roll and a half of toilet paper. A gate would be great at the entrance to the porch. Other than that, seeing cow elk and 4 spikes up close was pretty Awesome!

The deck on two sides of the cabin and the view were fantastic but the rest was a nightmare. Concrete steps leading down to deck were steep and no handrails. Screen door did not latch, screen on it was broken. Arcadia door didn't have screen. Stairs from living room area to bedroom area no handrails. Kitchen counters made from old doors-you can see where the hinges were,. This was covered with plexiglass. Recliners on couches did not work. Security flood lights outside did not work. Outlet in bedroom sparked when I tried to plug my i-phone in. No smoke detecters in bedrooms. Rug on deck shredded in places I tripped twice. Coffee maker shown in picture not there. In order to use the air-fryer you had to move it to an outlet at end of counter to use it. The light in bathroom was on motion sensor, when in shower the light would go off. A disaster waiting to happen to happen at this place.In closing I could go on. We cut our vacation short ,I would not stay here again We filed an incident report with VRBO as of yet we have not heard from them.

Cute cozy cabin

We really enjoyed our stay here!! Scenery was beautiful and the huge deck was awesome! It was really neat seeing Elk just roam all around the property. The host really did think of everything to accommodate guests.

Amazing get away!

Our family had an amazing time in this beautiful cabin with the comfort and the beauty of God's nature and wildlife, some of our kids saw the gorgeous falling of the snow, we also watched herds of elk right by the porch, this pretty cozy cabin has a good place for your family memories, thank you!!!

Awesome Weekend Getaway

Beautiful scenic cabin. With all the modern amenities with the cabin charm. Great Hosts! Check in was a breeze and they really know how to cater to their guest needs. Would definitely would stay again. And the Elk in the back yard! Awesome stay.

Great place loved seeing all of the wildlife

property was as advertised nice little place with a nice deck. We enjoyed seeing the Elk and deer on a daily basis would rent this place again in the future. Only issue is parking if you have a trailer. I had no issues but if you are not good at reversing a trailer downhill you might have issues.

Amazing Getaway

Cabin is cozy and surrounded by beautiful trees. Cabin was fully stocked and had everything we needed for our weekend getaway. Nadia is a wonderful host, communication was superb and check in was fast and simple. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and watching the wildlife come through the property. Highly recommend this wonderful place and we can’t wait to come back.

Cute cozy cabin in the woods, wildlife included!

We had a really good family vacation at the Lovin Lufkin Cabin. The beds were super comfortable, the house's tech is very very good- nice wifi, all 3 TVs are streaming capable- Roku-branded, there's an Amazon smart speaker in the living room/dining area which is very handy. We really liked the large deck overlooking the yard and neighboring trees and the surrounding neighborhood. Wildlife! We saw numerous elk, including one big male with antlers. One javelina came right up to the stairs of the walkway leading down from the driveway, and we had a nice face-to-face encounter that lasted several minutes and ended peaceably. Too many squirrels and birds to count. Patrick and Nadia emphasize that their cabin has had several wildlife encounters for their guests- this is not an exaggeration. My daughter enjoyed their wildlife blind in the side yard area. It snowed when we visited- fortunately not too heavily, just perfect for a Phoenix kid to appreciate a little-seen weather phenomenon, at least in central Arizona. The cabin's heating system kept the indoors quite comfortable, the warming bed liners were very nice. The cabin has a wood-burning stove, we brought firewood and indoor/outdoor firelogs with us. The fire pit in the yard was rustic but comfortable. If you are coming up when it's going to be cold, definitely bring supplies for both or buy them locally. The bathroom was well appointed. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and helpful labels directing visitors where equipment may be found. I don't really have any complaints about the property. The listing is accurate. There is no dishwasher- somehow the lack of one escaped my notice when I read the listing. I can't really fault Nadia or Patrick on that score though- I just assumed there was one. Washing dishes by hand was no big deal, really. Just know that you'll be doing that too. If you want to visit Strawberry/Pine, you really should think about the Lovin Lufkin Cabin. Our family of three fit in there perfectly, and if we had more people coming with us on the trip, the extra beds in the second bedroom would have come in super handy. This is the fourth cabin we have booked for the Strawberry/Pine region, we have been coming to this area for the last five years straight. We would book the Lovin Lufkin Cabin again, and you should definitely consider doing the same if you like clean cozy cabins and wildlife.

The cabin has everything ya need except clothes and food…which are obvious things you usually take along on a trip or you could eat out the whole time in, Strawberry, Pine or Payson (30 min away). The Beds are comfortable, some games provided, Kitchen has pots, pans, coffee maker, plates, cups etc. (no toaster, but toaster oven). The Deck goes around almost the whole cabin and is not super close to another cabin as far as viewing of the forest. Pet Friendly, my dog loves to lounge in the sun and take strolls down the road to check out the Elk and Deer, saw some squirrels also. The Elk have a path that goes right by the cabin, also every morning and evening we did see some or one at least. Great get away location and peaceful.

I was impressed with the "cabin". Enjoyed watching the elk just hang around as if they owned the place. My little dog didn't pay any attention to them and the elk didn't even notice my dog it seemed. With all of the wedding going's on we only had one partial evening to sit on the deck and enjoy the scenery and weather with family from the Phoenix area. This would be something for me to consider again coming with my aunt (also from WI) and spending time during the winter. I used to live in Prescott Valley so the weather may be a little cooler in Strawberry, but it would sure be better than Wisconsin in winter.

Quiet place

Overall, it fit most of our needs. Close to where we needed with enough beds for our family. With some of house directions, we felt it wasn't necessarily the best for a family with young kids. However, for the time that we spent at the house during our weekend, it was fine for us.

Neighborhood is great. Home is great. I would say the water temp in the shower was not the greatest so we warmed up water and used the hot water from the bathroom sink to bathe our kids. Karen who helps the homeowner is great and very attentive.

Quiet and Quaint

Our family enjoyed our time at the home. The neighborhood is quiet and we loved watching the wildlife come through. The home had everything we needed and was comfortable.

Why they chose this property

We love Strawberry for its close to proximity to SO many hiking trails and nature preserves but mainly because of Fossil Creek. We also love the small town vibe without the lack of things to do!
