This home is located walking distance from the famous Salmon River in upstate NY. Within a mile are snowmobile and ATV trails. The property now has an upgraded water filtration system throughout!!!!!! The new system removed the sulfur smell in the water and now there is drinking water next to the sink faucet in the kitchen. The property includes 4 bedrooms with 6 comfortable beds which are fully furnished with comfortable mattresses and linens. The one and only bathroom has a shower/tub and fresh bath towels. The living room boasts plush leather furniture, large flat screen tv, cable and WiFi. The fully stocked kitchen has a wine fridge, freezer, washer and dryer. The game room includes a flat screen tv, foosball table and up close viewing of taxidermy mounts. There is a huge wrap around deck with a Kenmore barbecue grill with side burner. Also on the back deck there is a pergola with sitting area under it. There is outdoor seating around a wood fire pit. This property is within walking distance to the Salmon River, the Altmar Hotel and Tailwater Inn.

winter getaway

We have stayed with Todd and Jen a couple of times and every inch is top self...really nice place...great location next to river for fishing and trail for riding...and if you need anything they are very responsive...you cannot do better

Never disapointed staying here

First off, I'd like to say this has to be one of the cleanest houses I have ever stayed at and this is our 4th stay looking forward to our stay in October. This is a house for family friends and especially fishing buddies. I'd love to thank the host Todd and his lovely wife for making this an amazing stay once again. Thank you, guys see, you in October.

This house is such a gem. We had a great stay there. Really special inside they’ve done a great job making it feel so exceptional. They even had handmade soaps which they left a note that we should take home and a bottle of wine. What a great experience!

Amazing place to stay

We were a group of five young fishing buddies on a weekend fishing trip and were blown away by the refurbished church. It had such character and the taxidermy was top notch! It is situated in small town and was an easy walk to local stores and the river. Todd and Jen were very communicative and hospitable leaving some treats from their farm. Would definitely go back and stay for a fishing trip, but would also like to vacation here with my family.

We can’t get enough of this beautiful home!

Jen & Todd are literally the most accommodating and attentive couple we’ve ever rented from on VRBO! Year over year they have gone out of their way to increase the value, through their hospitality this beautiful rental already provides. Both myself and my group are always so thankful to have such a beautiful house to stay in for our annual salmon fishing trip! Thanks again for a great weekend, there’s no place we’d rather stay!

Perfect Stay

Five of my college friends and I stayed at this property for our winter Steelhead trip. It was perfect. Everyone had a place to sleep. We were one block away from the local dive bar and pub (Altmar hotel) and we were only 1.5-2 blocks away from the lower fly fishing zone. There is a smart TV in the living room, a grill, a well stocked kitchen, four bedrooms, and a plethora of interesting taxidermists to stare at and ponder with you friends. My friends and I all agreed that there isn’t a better property for a guys trip to the salmon river. Book here.

A fisherman's dream home

I really don't want to give an excellent review because I want this home all to myself haaaa. Communication with the owners was amazing. The house was user friendly in all ways the beds were very clean the house was amazingly clean. I can't begin enough to say that This house is going to be our or home when we come up during fishing season during fishing season every year. This beautiful and comfortable house is one stop shopping has everything you need all you need to do is just go grocery shopping once. The house warming gifts were just amazing thank you very much for putting your time and effort into it... The husband and wife duo definitely put some care and love into this house thank you guys again see you next year... PS I might come back with my wife and kids.

Church Inn

We had a great time on our fishing trip staying at this converted church home. The accommodations were comfortable and fit our needs. The decor of the home was perfect for our crew, the mounts of fish and animals set a nice tone as a fishing camp. I would recommend this property and hope to stay there next year.

Fantastic Little Inn

While clearly a fishing lodge (and it is absolutely perfect for that purpose), we had friends getting married at the Tailwater, and the location of the house was perfect. Our friends who dropped by loved the barn doors and wood floors, and we also loved that we were greeted with local treats from the hosts. Definitely would recommend and would stay there again!

Return trip better than first trip

Great stay at the Church… nicest place I have stayed in the area…. That goes back to the mid-70’s…. Cannot do better if you’re there for fishing…Todd and Jenn are great hosts… professional and generous… don’t get caught up in the Church thing… this place is a paradise… you stay once and you will be back

Jenn and I have lived in scranton PA for 13 years. We started a little farm in Pennsylvania about 9 years ago. we produce all our food on our farm and other amenities as well. we raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats and pigs for our close friends and families to eat. Jen and I both work in the medical field for 40 years combined now. Jen as a Physical Therapist Assistant and i as a CT tech. We love what we do as medical providers and we especially love our farm..

Why they chose this property

I have been an avid salmon and steelhead fishermen for 20 years. My wife and I have been coming up to the salmon river for that long. We have been looking for a place up here for over 5 years. We are so pleased to have found this gem so close to, in my mind one of the best places to fish in the world. One of the biggest selling points for this house is that you can walk 3 blocks and you are fishing the great salmon river.

What makes this property unique

One of the alluring principle of this house that drew us to it was that it is a church. We love that someone did not see a church but saw a livable space to enjoy. The over all design of the place just made us fall in love with it. The loft that overlooks the rest of the house is outstanding and not to mention all the fish and animals. This Church is a dream come true for my wife and I. Oh also 3 BLOCKS FROM THE BEST STEELHEAD FISHERY ON THE EAST COAST!!!!!
